Night of passion with my boyfriend or watching this game in the hopes we could make an effort out of it. Gee I’m an idiot

Ā

Petracca just did not go hard enough. That sums him up. Christian you are so frustrating.Ā

Ugh next week is so so important. Massive, the loser will rightly so cop more heat.Ā

Thank god I was out and only got home to watch the final term.Ā

Ho Hum.
S'pose we'll just have to redeem ourselvesĀ next week instead.

Ā

Come on Dees. Get your s*** in a pile.

Playing like Freo did the year year after they first played finals. Not so much a Premiership hangover as a played finals one.

Prepared to cut KK and May some slack because it's their first game for us, but Tracc seriously needs a spell at CaseyĀ

Pretty clear now with decent sampls size that were just not where we thought we were. ListĀ is youngĀ and seems to have far more gaps than we realised - WC started the misery and all clubs inc Bris have followed suit and showed us up for pace and with getting behind our back 6 consistently.Ā

Much work to do to even salvage a top 8 spot let alone any grand delusions at this stage. Could be corrected by later in year but personally I cant see how. Cats went andĀ fixed their holes we’ve just viewed WC loss as a bad game and tried to doĀ same thing again without getting any fwd pressure in and a backman who we then play with two of the back men we wanted gone.. woeful and shame but it’s a LONG way off let’s not kid - we’re 8-13 at best I’d say.Ā

Ā

Hoped LW was aberration but gutĀ feelĀ was that it wasn’t - esp when blues nearly Knocked port off.. oh dear - we need 5-6 feisty pressure players at least over next year or two, or a miracle change in style.Ā

Ā

Ā

Ā

Too slow. Too unskilled.

We’re just not that good a side. We can play better than this but who would sayĀ our ceiling is as high as a team likeĀ Collingwood or WCE. We’re a mile off.

I also can’t helpĀ noticingĀ how much smaller we look than the oppo.Ā We look like a bunchĀ of shrimps comparedĀ to most sides.

There will be those that giggle and deride this thread as over -reactive. They'll say we need to review in cold light of tomorrow.

They're denialist. This is crud.

Actually...we aspire to crud. This is is devestational.

Even rubbish is useful if understood.

I ...just don't understand this club.

Nicely put.Ā

For me this in many ways is more unacceptable than anything in the previous 8 years.

Now what I just saw is beyond a joke.

You recall we won two finals last year right?

I do and then when we came up against an actual contender we got flogged and we haven’t won a game since.Ā

The team we beat in a final just flogged us like a dead horse.Ā

We won nothing in 2018 and 2019 looks like it will be much the same.Ā

Live ladder has us just above Norf forĀ wooden spoon with % of 47.4

Absolutely squibbed it. He has been awful. Not improving...a footballer going nowhere! I want him to be good but it ain’t happening

Thats was a commitment act.Ā Ā  And he is not totally committed, and so is not fully focused, because of it.

He will never get any better as long as he does not fully commit to the team and to the game.Ā Ā  Tracca thinks far too much about tracca.

Ā

Mind you, he has a few mates doing similar this season.

Fritta is disappointing so far.Ā  I think Fritta needs a spell at Casey.Ā  He is well off his own standards.

I would persevere with Hunt, but push him forward.

I wouldĀ  drop Petracca now with Fritta, so they both can sort themir heads out with the VFL.

Its time for Keilty, and Stretch again.

Keep Lockhart in.

Sparra back to Casey.

Ā

I want to see a quicker running Mfc team next week, against the Bummers.

Um ...Hawkins had enough time to give away a goal - just stood in the goal square, waited for the second gamer to arrive, and give him the ball for a goal.

Cones at training do better than we are doing.

Oliver - star, never stop trying

Braywhaw, Hibberd, Melksham and a few others

Ā

126 to 40 - and we have had nearly DOUBLE the inside 50s...

Shocking

The Soft Underbelly is still in charge...

This Club will go nowhere without more ruthless decisionsĀ

this is just garbage

Check out round 4 last year.

We've had 72 to 48 inside 50s, cats have been super efficient, we will be fine.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front.Ā They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season.Ā Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table.Ā The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hopeĀ that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, MelbourneĀ captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles atĀ Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.Ā  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, aĀ career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested),Ā nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.Ā

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
