Does anybody have an idea when the membership packs will be sent  out ? I seem to remember we had them pre Christmas in past years so they could be given as Christmas presents!

We received the packs today minus the membership cards. Club says our cards should arrive by the end of the week.

I received an sms Friday saying that Aus Post had my memberships, assumed I would’ve received it today but didn’t? As long as I get them by the end of the week, one is a Xmas present. ?

I'm pretty sure I've always received these just prior to Christmas. I recall getting an email saying you had to purchase your memberships by a certain time in order to get then before Chrissy.

Has anyone received the end-of-season magazine yet?

I hope the club is not struggling to service the increased number of members it has on board.

IIRC, the magazine isn't usually sent with the membership pack.  I recall it coming out before the start of the season rather than pre Christmas.

I doubt the club is struggling to service the member numbers.  It all seems to be running very efficiently and these days highly automated..

In fact it appears there is an automated tracking system in place and it sends sms when membership packs are with aussie post, having be sent from the mailing house.

With all the great content we get online through the official site and social media do we really need the magazine anymore? Seems like an unnecessary cost in this day and age that could be better spent on us winning a premiership.

Just received an email from Australia Post saying that my package from MFC is due for delivery tomorrow.

That means it will likely arrive around Australia Day.

I've been wondering about that myself. One of them is my Dad's Christmas present.

Sadly , this could very well happen with Auspost. Certainly not the best service from that mob !

Well well ….. there's a surprise!

Against all odds my membership pack arrived this arvo!!!!

My MFC/Demon army membership pack(s) arrived by courier at 6.30pm tonight - Yahooooooo! The 3 other members of the family didn't get their memberships though. I think that's because I order a members cap and t-shirt and the parcel was too big for the normal post.

It's a different package this year - VERY professional looking. No longer do the items come in a 'pencil case', it's all in a paper/cardboard 'envelope' package.

Gees, I feel for those waiting for Membership packs to give as Xmas presents.

why couldn’t they be mailed 2 weeks ago?

I just recieved a completely different family's 4 membership packs. Will be phoning the club and dropping the memberships off at the correct address this afternoon. I have to go past there anyway. I just hope my membership isn't being sent elsewhere as well

I haven’t received mine yet, one is a Xmas present too. I received an sms last Friday saying that Aus Post had my memberships. Unless it comes early Monday, it will be given after Xmas. ?

Edit: Melbourne membership just told me that mine has definitely been posted, also stated that Aus Post are delivering through the weekend? I still won’t hold my breath though. ?

Have you received an email from Australia Post by any chance Males with a tracking number for your delivery?

i've received no mail or sms

fortunately i'm in no hurry

but it does make you wonder about the process. as far as i know all the afl clubs use a common (outsourced?) process, so individual clubs only have limited amount of input or control

You are easily forgettable dc.

Got mine today.

My sms was received on Monday... still nothing in the post; but it is a long bike ride up the Hume to Sydney.

I received mine today and while it is obvious that the club would have gone to great lengths to prioritise the delivery of my membership package I ask you all to be patient, the ordinary packages are on their way to you all.

No, but I haven’t any other year either? I’m hoping the lady I spoke to at Melbourne Membership was correct and Aust Post are delivering through the weekend? ??

My sister also received the SMS last week and nothing yet for herself and her kids. She’s in the same boat as you.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
