That's an understatement 'Dr'...

He should be talking to the ambulance chasers to see if he can get it embargoed and take action on who put it together.

Yes forgot to add late mail. Simington has impressed big time in 2018. Kept under wraps.  Will get drafted or rookied. I think Suns will use pick 80. Maguire likely to get late pick 89 to Giants

What you think about Rubock was impressive in the Acadamy series? I noticed you haven't got him in your phantom draft. He addresses the small forward needs.

Nick Rippon is clearly better than VFL.  I keep seeing Kane Lambert in the AFL and wondering why Nick Rippon is ignored.  Rippon could make a difference and at 91 would be worth a punt.

g'day nick :)

I’m sticking to these for a good draft. Though Duursma is pushing up the draft to top 15-18.

Knightmare’s Phantom Draft

AFL Phantom Draft: Rounds 1, 2, 3

I can absolutely guarantee that Port won't pick the other King twin at 6. They didn't trade up in the draft to pick a Victorian. Will most likely be Rozee unless Lukosius or Rankine are miraclulously still available.

Starting to see similar names matched to our first pick - McHenry, Williams, Ely Smith, O'Halloran.

Yet to really fall in love with anyone tipped to go to us but there's some handy prospects.

Hopefully Knightmares draft comes to fruition and we land Bailey Williams with our first pick. He's got serious potential and fills the greatest need on our list.

finally toby bedford has a highlights package. i like what i see :)

Highlights package = grain of salt.  But agree that looks impressive - clean ball winning capability, genuine easy break away pace, great agility, good team oriented play - blocking and running on to assist, nice kicking skills, good game sense playing on from free kicks.  There's some nice highlights there: afterburners at 1:24, contest at 1:30, stood up in the tackle at 2:40, agility at 3:05. A bit of the Daniel Rioli there.   I'm a buyer of what he's selling.

Toby has a touch of the Matthew Whelans about him - hard to catch, neat kick and apparently likes to stick a tackle. There is also a physical resemblance. Sign him up

Refer 23 and 28 thread.

Mchenry and Stack - not to us at these picks

Wasted choices given the talent available at each pick

Based on the Knightmare (Chris Doerre) choices, for me it’s

23 - Bailey Williams (or Ely Smith)

28- Tom McKenzie

Bailey is the goods for us. Come hell or high water - get him.

Highlights are highlights for a reason but I like what I see.

good pace, especially first 5m

nice side step,

clean ball handling off the ground

gives the ball to players in a better position.

could tidy up his kicks, seems to loop them a little.

Removing the elite 8 and the 5 academy/father son prospects - Blakely, Thomas, West, Quaynor and Scott. Also taking out Jones and Clark, too much top 10 buzz for them to last.

10. Luke Valente
13. Jackson Hately
14. Xavier Duursma
16. Sam Sturt
17. Xavier O’Halloran
18. Zak Butters
21. Ely Smith
23. Ian Hill
24. Bailey Williams
25. Ned McHenry
26. Liam Stocker
27. Jez McLennan
28. Curtis Taylor
29. Luke Foley
30. Riley Collier-Dawkins

Worse case scenario 12 of these guys are gone by our pick. My guess is Hately, Sturt, Butters, Hill, Stocker and RCD are off the board. Same kind of names - Smith, Williams, McHenry, Taylor around the mark for our first pick.

My semi-realistic preference for pick 23 would be O’Halloran, Butters, Duursma or Luke Foley, whoever slips through. Fraser Turner would be a decent result if the others are gone, as generally predicted.

Bailey Williams at pick 28 would be good, but I’d prefer to chase a small with 23.

I get the feeling Bedford will be picked up around 35-40.

Happy to stick my neck out with a few bold opinions, but I don’t think I’d touch Curtis Taylor or Valente. Not blown away by Jackson Hately, Ely Smith or McHenry either.

Collier-Dawkins & Bailey Williams could be anything, but are high risk prospects. Butters could also be one of those if-only-it-clicked types, but I’d roll the dice.

Rate Stocker & O’Halloran, I think they’ll be locks for 150+ games.

I really like the look of McKenzie if we can get him a bit later.

I think at junior level, unless you’re really new to the game, a player really has to have shown an ability to win his own footy & cant purely be an outside accumulator. If you can’t win contested footy as a junior, how will you manage to do it at AFL level? Every player on the list needs to be able to win the footy when it’s their turn, no exceptions.

Bedford is exactly the type of youngster to develop.  Dees will grab him. It’s just which pick and what we have to give up.

Williams is No. 1 for me. He can play tall and master rucking or develop into a KPF/D; outside with pace, movement and poise; and in the crush as a key navigator; and, is the owner of two very good hands somewhere up there in the stratosphere with a leap that would make a bullfrog proud.

Bedford would be my No.2 who impresses me more than Rankine upon whom the eyes of the hopeful are transfixed.

Just my opinions, nothing more.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
