Just wanna check . . . is that the same Hogan that:

  • has the ball constantly kicked on top of his head
  • has the ball kicked to his defensive side
  • regularly competes against two or three opponents because we move the ball slowly or in unpredictable patterns
  • has the ball dropped in front of him
  • was a lock for AA in the middle of the season
  • was rated top 15 players in the comp by The Roar a month ago
  • flies against (take your pick) Pedo/Max/Harmes/Trac/Hotdog stand vendor
  • runs his guts out to make position at half forward for a clear receive only to see the ball fumbled or turned over by (take you pick) ANB/Spargo/Jones/Tyson/Frost
  • is so bugged by the time he does get the ball that he can't kick straight?

Yeah . . . trade him I recon.

Hogan is playing injured. He needs a week or two off, but we can't afford to drop him this close to finals. I'd say drop him this week since we're no chance of winning but he would probably like to go to Perth.

Hogan isn't our problem. But If I were Hogan I would ask for a trade if our delivery inside 50 doesn't improve. It isn't fair to even bag Hogan at this point. We have the worst delivery inside 50 of a team that I have ever seen, and that includes my junior football sides when we couldn't kick at all.

I'm not saying trade Hogan because of any problem with his form. In fact I think he has the ability to deliver us a premiership playing at CHF.

What I am saying is that we may have a chance of covering Hogan with Weideman, Mc Donald etc while adding significantly to our list through the draft or by trade. Cannot think of another player on our list that we could cover for who has decent trade value.

Time to get smart as a football club. We have a decent list and the club would be wanting if the analysis was not done.

I’m not one to sensationalise, but do we honestly think he’s the answer at FF.

Trade him for two first rounders while he has some currency !

Must be a full moon, the nuffies are out.

Yeah, bugger it, we're no good, trade veryone with currency, time for a rebuild.

We have an improving list built around a core of solid performers

But we've always held on to guys we like who don't perform because we see them through rose coloured glasses

Hogan I think is one

Our list, Hogan included, is not the [censored] problem. For once we actually have a good list!!! We have a better list than half the teams currently in the 8.

The problem is we are mentally [censored] and we are not well coached.

Hogan is a gun and the other 17 clubs would be lining up for him.  Unfortunately our style of play is not suited to anyone playing deep forward.  He is far from the problem - his dodgy kicking today not withstanding.

He continually over runs under the kick, then complains like a baby when it's not lace out.

If he asks to go home you let him go and get Adam Cerra or Langdon in return, any day of the week.

Can those posters that are in the “no to trading Hogan camp” please enlighten the rest of us which games he’s dominated this year. Or more to the point, his numbers/stats in our losses.

For those who keep bringing up his potential AA form, again, against which sides?

What he achieved in his first two seasons counts for nothing now. He is clearly not the player we all thought he’d be which ever way you spin it.

Im all for trading him, but would want a gun mid in return. One that fits our age/talent profile. Then target a Peter Wright or similar.

Firstly, Hogan is playing injured and should have been rested for the Gold coast match.

Secondly, every player has a bad day, sure a FF should not miss from 20 metres out slight angle, but that is footy and that is life. no need to overreact

he has had some really good games for us this year and games in past seasons. everyone should just calm down.

Not today worst disposal efficiency in the team

But if you're right then he's not our full forward solution so he shouldn't be played there

He also is not a strong lead and mark, I'm sure his teammates kicking on his head doesn't help much but we need a full forward who can lead and mark

Just as he is a excellent mark leading up the ground, but struggles when the ball comes in high or in pack marking situations but spends more time deep than TMac. On the other hand TMac takes the big marks and today aside is a better shot on goal yet it he who has to go down back or into the ruck. Would love to see TMac left at FF for the rest of the year.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
