Demonland 74,462 Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Thought this thread deserved a 12,000th post. Well done Jesse. 8 1 Quote
Guest Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 (edited) Absolutely stoked for Jess today. While I would most want him playing with us, Sydney (and especially GWS) might be a blessing for him. No pressure will be on him in a part of Australia where he can go to the milkbar or pub and not get hassled. The last high profile Demon who went there I have no time for. This one I have nothing but love for still. ?? Edited May 1, 2021 by Colin B. Flaubert Quote

I quite liked the big PREUUUUUS. Also hope he gets a break with injuries and gets out on the park, although I'd also worry that GWS are starting to look pretty good as a side again, so perhaps he can take his time a bit too. Quote

I was wondering why Preuss wasn’t getting a game at GWS. I tuned out completely over the PS and didn’t realise he’d had a shoulder reconstruction. First time he’s had a real shot at a #1 ruck spot. Unlucky! 3 Quote
Nasher 33,686 Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 2018 and Jesse flying doesn’t feel like that long ago, but he’s hit some pretty low lows since then. He’s still only 26 and has time to reach his potential if he has the will and the luck. I hope he’s able to. He’s certainly off to a good start at GWS. 2 Quote

If he was fit he'd be getting games ahead of the mummy, no doubt about that for me. 1 Quote
Lucifers Hero 40,746 Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 (edited) The universal love on here for Jesse is heartwarming. Also heartwarming is this story of how he has settled into Mummy's family life, courtesy of Mummy's granny flat. how-mumford-and-sons-became-hogan-s-heroes I must admit I was worried early this year when I read he had moved into Mummy's granny flat given the 'white powder' stories about Mumford a few years ago mumford-breaks-silence Now, it seems to be working well for everyone. Other than when he stayed with a Dees host family when first coming over as a 17 year old, he would not have had much in the way of family life or the support, comfort and structure such provides. As he became independent and life's trials beset him its understandable that he became somewhat directionless, or least that is how it looks from the outside. Now he is 26 the age where he and others are maturing. He has shown true grit and resilience to endure all that he has and be on the cusp of fulfilling his potential. I am rapt that he has found a 'home' with Mummy's family (an ironic nickname in the context of this story) and will delight in watching him play (except against us). Overall, I just hope Jesse is happy ?. Just love the guy ❣️ Edited May 1, 2021 by Lucifer's Hero 3 1 Quote
BDA 23,048 Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 (edited) Wish him nothing but the best. Was disappointed to see him go and would have welcomed him back but on reflection the club made the right call. If he can settle and start enjoying his footy he can be a real weapon for the Giants. Him and Greene operating in the same forward line will give opposition defences' plenty to think about. Edited May 1, 2021 by Better days ahead 1 Quote

Interesting he laments leaving the dees and that watching us win a flag was "torture" In a sliding doors world and he was still with us, I wonder who would have made way for him from the grand final team. 2 Quote

Or perhaps there would be no Tom McDonald. Hogan and Brown are very different players. Hogan plays best roaming further from goal. In all likelihood if he was still with us McDonald would have been traded and so would Weideman 2 Quote

A fit Ben Brown and Jesse Hogan in the same forward line would have been one tantalising combo. 4 Quote
