Why would anyone want a player that would prefer to play for Freo. He obviously has more important things in his life than football and that is obvious. He is a sublime talent but his head is not on the footy field.

You've got some good footy views STMJ but you really are an awful person.

Why awful?

Posters are complaining and trade period is not even over.

They have no idea what we'll end up with and they refuse to look at the picture at large.

If we don't win a flag in the next 5 years and Hogan takes Freo to one, that's when I'll admit that the trade was a fail or that we got 'unders' for Hogan.

Good that the deal has been done.

Despite his talent, it was always been what he could do for us.

He had some good games but overall his contribution was patchy at best, when we could get him on the paddock.

He has not been the worth the coin he was being paid and certainly not worth more based on his performance.

Sick of the constant speculation around this guy.

We are building a team where everyone has a role.

We were not building a team around one player.

So Freo this trade period
Gain - 14 and some later pics, Hogan, Lobb, Conca

Lose - pick 6 and Neale

They've smashed it. They've landed Hogan and Lobb AND still got a pick int he first round. We've been poor by comparison. Disappointing.

Except without Lachie Neale, how are Fremantle going to get the to their forwards? Fyfe will do a lot of the heavy lifting, but who else?

People are disappointed to see Hogan go.  Is there an issue with that?

You're dancing on their disappointment like a big bully.

To wait that long for such a pathetic outcome.Bunch of amateurs....

These bunch of amateurs just got us to  a preliminary final. you seem clueless in negotiation skills.

So T Mac goes down with an injury.  Who are our key forwards then? The Weid?  Yeah that will win a premiership!

For decades we have cried out for a power forward unit.....we get close and then we trade 'em.

Good one Dees!

No, they're disappointed about 'pick value' that we're getting back.

Nothing else.

Yes Jesse can do some spectacular things on the footy field. But I really think he is an individual driven player, this might change with maturity but I doubt it...

He lacks defensive pressure it never seemed to fully buy into our team & city.

Its no coincidence that our BEST wins of the last 4 or 5 years have been with no Jesse.

we have netted a pick 3 in return where we will get a full back for 4-5 years, a potential outside runner (former pick 5) & pick 23 to bring in a very decent role player.

Sure pick 19 would have been better, perhaps we have something planed already for 23 in an on trade?

Watch every other club in the league circle our midfield over the next 3 years.

"Melbourne give up their stars for peanuts. Let's give Clayton, Angus and Christian a call, surely we can get em for a second round each."

We'd better get on with winning next year's premiership so I can live with Jesse nabbing the Colemans in 2022-2025.

your full of joy and positivity

Freo have been absolutely desperate for a key forward .. we DID have leverage before we came out and admitted we're happy for him to go home and we need the deal to get done for May... Amateurish

If Hogan made it clear to all and sundry that he wanted to go home, then why not say we are happy for him to go home.  No one would believe us if we said we'd hang on to him grimly.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
