I’m quite certain Tom Morris was doing the club podcast until he was booted. He’s from Fox Footy, dresses like a trust fund baby and doesn’t shave.

Tom Browne is the lump of wood from Channel 7 who has the presentation warmth of Professor Snape. Not sure if Browne supports Melbourne.

Tom Morris it was - http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2018-03-15/inside-melbourne-episode-1

Upon further Googling, Morris ran St Kilda's social channels in 2015. He now works for Croc Media and Fox Footy.

There's a propensity on here (and elsewhere) to denigrate every journo who utters something that supporters don't like.

It's very childish.

And even the most clueless journo knows more than just about every individual who posts here.

Saw him today down at Junction Oval at the JLT one day final.

Don't know sue but there is something missing in the story.

The MFC seems too methodical and calm from day 1. Almost like they started the trade for reason  of their own.

But surely the bold bit above is entirely consistent with what I postulated. I don't see how your next sentence follows from that.   The story I postulated seems to be complete and self-consistent to me.  So I won't defer to your nose smelling something fishy for the moment.   Let's see what happens.....

Guys lets just accept we're about to get fleeced by both Freo and Gold Coast...

Just shows how far Browne has been shut out by demon insiders.  He now relies on other media outlets or guesses.

Is a demon supporter and early this year he was doing the club podcast, then kept leaking stuff which is pretty low.  Got the boot from the podcast.

Clearly is now a persona non gratia!

Wasn’t that Tom Morris?

Hi end Cheeseboard perfect for both hard and soft cheeses!

I camembert the suspense much longer.

Actually no it's fine. I'm fine

If he stays, I hope he's emental-ly prepared and emotionally invested in the club.

If he goes, then may it be for a feta trade price than Freo think is appropriate.

priceless - prodee denigrating the denigrators

Tom Browne saying Hogan will leave this year or next. Not sure I want him in the team when he has one leg back in WA.

MELBOURNE want pick 5 and a future first round pick from FREO

How does that equate to wanting the highest trade deal ever?

As for 5  and  a second rounder, such a result would create a clear credibility issue somewhere, particularly as we gave 2 first rounders for Lever.

Mahoney would have to walk the plank on that one.

Gouda for you!

Don't forget that Hogan is a restricted free agent next year (surely hes in top 25% of earners at club). So if freo and the media think we will get him for nothing next year they are wrong.

No, this can be forgotten.

agreed. and the big journo's, even Sam Mclure, have gained high powered positions by being good at their jobs.

I agree with the gist of your post. I was probably over the top. Definitely, journos would have better sources than myself.

That said, there have been plenty of journalists dressing their opinions as fact, particularly during trade period. Particularly on trade radio there are presenters who show stunning ignorance when it comes to footballers, their attributes and trade value.

if we let hogan go for a first and 2nd rounder then i think it takes away all of Mahoneys good work in the past. he has a history of over spending.

The feeling this thread is giving me is like the effects of a real strong mull cookie that you want it to stop but it just keeps getting worse.

They have been following the kid around like a bad smell since he was 17. Of course they still want him & there excitement levels were getting out of control when there was actually a possibility to get him this year.

Like we did with Lever?

if you listened today, Barrett refused to give any air to the "failed medical rumour", or other rumours he had not heard from a reputable source. The only time they state their opinions in when they are guessing what pick a player is worth, and that were fans get angry.. but they are more than entitled to discuss what a player may be worth

Is that a contradiction or am I just fatigued with this whole thread ?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
