Agreed. He's also eligible for a trade to Carlton as he served time at GWS prior to coming to us.

    It's all Jack Watts fault. If he hadn't left all the comments would be calling for him to be dropped thereby leaving Tyson alone.

    He wins the ball in tight that's why he gets tackled.  He's not Oliver - few are. 

    He has improved his dosposal when tackled and gets his hands free now and looks for a creative handball which he generally achieves.

    He didn't get called HTB.

    But he doesn't win much outside ball and his kicking is well short of Fritsh's, that's why the Smith in has merit.

    Its a delicate balance. Sure we could trade Dom for a reasonable draft pick but then what happens to our midfield next season if we get a couple of injuries to key players?  Might depend on if we win the premiership this season or not!

    He cannot kick with his right

    He doesn't mark overhead...ever

    He trots around the ground instead of running.

    He takes his opponent to the ball

    He loses his opponent when we are defending

    He is slow.

    His first option is always to handball, and opponents know this.

    GOTO I always appreciate your perspective but I am puzzled by this?

    He always takes his opponent to the ball because he reads it well and is first to the footy?

    Because if we win the flag we could afford to trade a couple of depth players for talented kids, if not I think we need all experienced hands on deck for an all out assault in 2019.

    I think Dom will play because they may not want to break up a winning group .

    But , he should be told that he must lift his rating by 20-30% or he could miss out on a Grand final if we win.

    Totally in his hands and he will know that he can’t really have three average finals in a row.

    This should hopefully spur him on to perform strongly.

    Tyson is an inside mid playing as a wingman. One paced, can win his own ball but often gets caught in possesion, inconsistent disposal.

    If he is not picked in the team as an inside mid then for mine he does not have a spot in the team. We need more pace and hard running on the wing. It is not like we are short of contested ball beasts that we need to sacrifice outside run to play an extra inside mid.

    understand the reasoning on tyson/smith/fritsch........but not convinced smith at this stage of his development offers much more

    will be interesting to see what selection committee think tonight

    I would bring Vince in and get him to tag Shuey. Let Harmes run this week. If we can lock down Shuey and cut off his momentum at stoppages, that leaves Yeo, and as an inexperienced midfielder, Yeo isn't really an inside mid. By using Vince to tag Shuey we could have Harmes, Oliver, Viney, Jones and Brayshaw all rotating at full speed - giving everything they have to push the momentum our way, knowing we have locked down Shuey, and Yeo isn't an inside mid, and Sheed is a touch slow. Sheed is like Tyson. That is the beauty of Gaff been out. We should be able to really do a number on Dom Sheed this week.

    Good reasoning, regarding the containment of Shuey but can Vince do that for a full game?

Fritsch needs a wing and 2-way running to the HFF area; lock in Vince as stated on Shuey, Hannan in deeper fwd role to meet up with Fritsch a little, Smith the Son of a Gun into a clearing defensive flank and assist chop at CHB - maybe even playmaker at spoils on incoming Eagle scheet, Spargo open season all over the fwd half.

They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

      Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four.       For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

      The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
