Marvellous... congratulations

A couple of suggestions:

if I recall he was injured in his final year and he slipped in the draft. As a young man (studying I presume) how did his inability to show his wares in that draft year impact his belief in himself and his future.

He obviously has an outstanding ball sense (being in the right place). Did he always have that skill?

Great get guys, looking forward to hearing his story.

Has been a massive coup thus far.

Does he have to stand on a chair to get mobile reception?

Can you please ask if he is tired/ fatigued and if he needs arest? Then ask if he was/has been tired/fatigued and needed a rest? And if he says yes, please find out after which round he first felt this!

Also, I'd love to know a bit more about the instructions/ role given to him in particular.  Are there kpis to meet and what are they for him? How are performances assessed (assuming it isn't on possessions and goals only!)? Has this changed for him throughout the year as he has become more experienced (ie are they explicit in the change in targets as he has played more and more games?)

And also, if one day, would he like to be Captain?

I know the answer will probably be "it's about playing my role and doing the team things" but I'd love more insight to that. Is it about application or execution? Ie is it more important to be in the right position to attempt a tackle or for the tackle to stick? Does "playing my role" mean getting to the right spots defensively? Pressuring the correct player? Leaving your player at the right time? Gut running? Or is it about quality of disposals?

And if Vineys foot doesnt come up, is he too tired/fatigued to be captain this week?

+1

8:30? That's past his bed time

How does he feel his first year has gone?

How did he think he handled the moment last week, any yips? What would he do differently?

What did he say to Goddard when he got stuck into him in his first game?

How did he enjoy feeding off the atmosphere and energy created by the Melbourne supporters at the G?

His positioning and decision making are excellent. But if u can, Ask him about his kicking. Is there any kind of training focus fr him re set shots and increasing penetration.

Edit: Just saw this joke was already made, too slow by me.

How does he balance the pressures of being an elite athlete with also being an adorable dork?

Does he feel the Rising Star is a meaningless award due to his non selection.

Great get guys.

A serious question.

I am interested in the fact that the team defensive running has improved so dramatically in the last 5-6 weeks.

We are covering the outlet pass, minimising uncontested marks and slowing opp  transition so much better and there is no doubt it is the key reason for our ability to keep teams to low scores

(the other big factor is how they have used Max Gawn who is more regularly dropping back in to our back half to intercept and as importantly setting up down the line and forcing the opposition to go around him - or kick straight to him!)

The question is how we have been able to improve our defensive running so much.

Is it an attitude thing or a reflections of of a different tactical focus?

Or is it (as i suspect might be the case) down to training loads (eg heavy blocks mid season) and tapering to ensure we are fitter, fresher and less tired at the business end of the season?

(note he himself has said that effectively the club has been tapering the younger players by giving them a day off legs a week, but the question is about the whole club )

As a fellow first year player did Charlie speak much with Harrison Petty after his first game? Charlie had a great debut game but Harry had one he probably wants to forget and I'd like to hear what effect it had on him.

It would be great just to get him to read these questions out loud.

Another enjoyable podcast guys. Thanks!

Loved interview with "Jack Sparrow" (apparently his emerging nickname around the Club).  Mature well beyond his years.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
