No change. Forget about Garlett. The pressure would be too much for him and he might have to actually tackle which doesn't seem to be in his rule book. He is a good goal sneak though.

I do wonder about anyone who thinks Garlett would be a good in in a final. If Kent happened to become available it might make things interesting though.

Agree

Kent is really the only one to 'come back' and JKH is boderline but the rest don't seem to be putting genuine pressure on for spots, will be a matter of support for injuries

Spargo would be first out in my mind, a few nice kicks for goal assists but not much else really, and the miss from 30m out (shank kick out on full) was disappointing, that should be his bread and butter

Probably no change

I honestly don't understand anyone suggesting Garlett or Hunt.

Past glories I spose. In Garlett's case, he has played great footy in his career, and for us as recently as last year when some had him in AA calculations. Hunt likewise, if we're serious about blooding youth they would think about exposing him, even though he's out of form. I had him as a core player coming into this season... I actually have Smith not too far off that point too.

But yeah, this isn't a making up the numbers thing... win next weekend (which we absolutely should back ourselves to do), and we're in a prelim.

Purely a hypothetical, but if Hogan & Lever were both fit, had match fitness & form, do they both come in? And for whom?

No change for me.

Spargo will be better this week, offers so much off the ball. Tyson just needs to take the first option and not try and dance around players in tight spots, always gets tackled and pinged for htb.

I believe that Melksham is carrying a groin injury.

Not enough to force him out, but they will have to manage it for rest of season.

I hope that explains his left foot kick for goal.

People have to stop thinking of the Garlett from over 12 months ago,

One of the things that really stands out to me is our lack of front and centre/small fwd pace when we bring it to ground. A Garlett type would be a real benefit but he ain’t performing so I wouldn’t expect any changes.

There were no charges laid from the Match Review of last night’s Elimination Final so we are all clear on that front.

One matter was explained further.

Aaron Vandenberg cleared contact JMurdoch, 2nd term. It was ruled Vandenberg made a genuine attempt to tackle and his actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances

WTF incident was that?

Trust is vital in finals .... so no Jeffy for me.

Were Kent to be available they would at least have to look at Spargo.

Wouldn't know who to drop.

Bernie Vince could be an in with his experience and possibly last games. He has a beautiful kick and we saw what experience can give with the example of Jordan.

Another being Joel Smith who brings a little x-factor with his marking and flexibility to play back and forward,  though the step up with final pressure may be too much to expect.

Jay Kennedy-Harris for his pressure acts, run and ability to be in contest.

We have some players who can cover if there are injuries.

Charlie Spargo – 5
The first-year youngster was not overawed in his first final, but as you would expect he did not have a lot of impact on the game. What he did best was dish the ball to teammates, ending the night with three score assists – the most of any player on the ground.

he's a distributor. and clever.

no selwood staging charges? i'm surprised

If Vince is fit, we should bring him in because he is experienced and composed, which is exactly what we need against Hawthorn.
If Vince isn't fit, we should just leave it.

I'm very worried about Isaac Smith though, and could Hannan possibly go to him in a shutdown role? Similar body shapes, and could hurt Smith going the other way.

I like the way u think. I'd like 2 c Smith in.

Actually, we may need JSmith or other, I'm concerned about Burgoyne.  Or JK-H

And Frawley might take TMc, I suspect.   Maybe we need one more tall up front in TSmith to free up the Weide.  One has to drag Frawley high.

Agree the only change that may be considered could be JKH for Spartacus, though I don''t really think so.

AND since you raise the issue, how about RDB sitting with his old arch rival, Murray Weideman cheering on young Sam to even greater heights. ?

It was him was it, I was wondering about that. ?

Not the Only one JK-H... Vince, as run with?

I want Burgoyne blanketed.

Who are you concern players, we need to cover ?

I looked at their list and think they have 10 players who we should close down.

Sicily, Impey, Burgoyne, O'mera, Mitchell, Isac Smith, Gunston, Breust, Puopolo and Roughhead.

We need more mobility if anything at all against Hawthorn. Bernie cant run any more.

Very likely no change, though Tyson butchered the ball as per normal and Spargo although not having a mare was for me not very influential.

If Kent were to cleared fit I would potentially look at bringing him in for one of them.

It is interesting to consider who would come out if Lever and Hogan were fit to play. Tough call!

Who’s home game is it?

Look, this is brutal, but I would love to release Fritsch up the ground. Smith or Hunt in for Spargo...

Yeah, I don’t like it but footy is tough.

They're a good side.

Under the radar,,,,  the Hawks this year.
