So, if we beat Hawthorn, do we play WC on the Friday or Saturday night the week after? Seems pretty unfair to give a Victorian team a Saturday night match in Perth the week before a daytime Grand Final.

They just mentioned on Ch 7 saying Sat twilight or night.

It has to be Friday night! Surely... It’s the only common sense decision.

Let me in on that too!

I hate the filth.

So good to see that fat pink triplechinned pig's reactions towards the end of the match. Couldn't control himself despite being aware that cameras would be on him.

Hopefully out in straight sets.

Guys, there is still one more game inbetween then

Exactly.   Only a madman would look past this Friday night.

Frankenstein really relies on great delivery.  Cut out their mids and he is bloody near useless.

How many more years on his 99 year lease?  Looks past it really, and not particularly interested.

Having to clamber over your piles of cash (ah la uncle scrooge) to get out of the house each day would really take its toll physically I imagine

Seriously contemplating a nice road trip accross the wonderful Nullabor.

Time to dust off the trusty Google maps

If you need a map to get across the Nulla probably best you don’t attempt it ?

I’m not sure about you guys, but I was hoping West Coast won that. I was working out who I’d rather play if we beat Hawks and I can honestly say the structure and game style we play suits Eagles more, even if that is away at Optus Stadium.

They look to play a zoning uncontested game style which we have learnt how to counter and break the lines. I feel as though if we came up against the pies at the G their hard run and carry and spread game would be harder to play against than the Eagles.

If so he can spend the rest of the finals series making jokes about the Melbourne club, Range Rovers, and the snow whenever we are playing.

This is coming from a bloke who lives in Toorak and is good mates with Jamie Packer.

Does anyone have vision?

Yes there is but it’s cathartic to know that we’re feeling generally optimistic of getting past the Hawks.

And Perth broadcasters are already wary of coming up against the Demons particularly after beating them the other week.

Was listening to 6PR a little bit yesterday and they had Brad Hardie on (I know, I know) and he said Melbourne is the main concern the Eagles have with making the GF. They hold no fear against the Hawks but we’re a very different proposition.

Does anyone have any knowledge of how the ticketing works for an interstate final?

Thanks

Roughly the same as last week.  AFL will set price categories, seat availability, #of tickets per member, selling times etc etc.

The only difference if we make the Prelim, is that tickets will be sold thru Ticketmaster and not Ticketek - a blessing really.

I’m hoping as an interstate member there will be a certain allocation and it’ll first in best dressed should we make it to the prelim.

Other than that I guess you line up for GA.

thanks profusely but like many I am trying to gauge the worth of booking plane and accomodation etc but only prepared to do so if there is a realistic chance of tickets.

And sends his sons to Melbourne Grammar. Despite this he wears the Broady boy upbringing as a badge of honour when it suits.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
