Facebook says we offered Tyson but it was rejected.

But, you know, Facebook.

If that was the case, then i am glad they rejected it. Tyson is worth more than a 3rd round pick, Preuss not so much.

Laughable!  Lewis will be gone in 12 months, Jones not long past that.  Tyson has an important role to play in this side over the next few years.

if we trade tyson for a player who can't even get a run at all in 2018 i will fair dinkum SPEW UP

tyson is a best 22, second rotation inside midfield / first winger for us at the moment

preuss can't even get a game ahead of majak daw as a relief ruck for old man goldstein

With an ageing midfield North would be crazy not to take that deal, not that I want to lose Tyson.  If the fb post is true, maybe our offer was Tyson plus a draft pick and North baulked at that?

Just realised Preuss is in contract till end of 2020.  So we must really want him to effectively trade him out of his contract, so maybe it is a simple player swap...

...North will want overs...

Garlett & 43 for Preuss & 63 sounds reasonable to me.

Have to be prepared to pay a little overs for someone who has 2 years to run on a contract.

I love the idea of us aquiring Preuss. Our midfield could be coming into a decade of dominance and our season would be derailed with the current back up ruck stocks we have after Max. I'd be willing to pay the bloke huge overs to sit down at Casey and be the raininy day rainbow should big Max suffer and injury next year. The benefit to Casey and the developement of our midfield brigade at Casey would be so beneficial.

How many years was Jonathan Griffin back up to Sandilands? The big fella is STILL going, while Griffin finished his career on 97 games in a decade-long playing career as second fiddle

Some blokes are more than happy to be role players eeking out a long career as a result

Dean Kent and a swap of picks seems like a fair deal to me

Preuss is an imposing figure, he can more than hold his own. Therefore we should be emboldened by Mason cox's performance in having confidence that one of our duo can be a strong marking forward for 70-80% game time. Lever and May allow Gawn to rest forward reliably instead of in defence too.

Hogan, VDB, petracca given more time in middle as bulls as Weed TMAC & Preuss is enough. Then we alternate a new small forward in there with spargo, hannan and melk.

Why are we talking about May, he is apparently off to the Pies.

It was reported that he met with Melbourne on his own initiative late last week to sound out his options.

How could we even get him? We have no first round draft picks, and you know GC will want something big in return.

Would be nice to have him, maybe Jason Taylor and Todd Viney can work some magic?

The club has made some good trade deals in the last few years but we really need to start nailing free agency if we want to make a serious tilt at a flag.

After yesterday, this seems like a much better idea.

Not that Max played badly but the Eagles worked out how to play him. Having either Vardy or Lycett go with him when he floated back or forward shagged a lot of our game plan.

Preuss will be a definite starter of he is willing to pay a role that necessarily isn't first ruck for 100% of game time.

I have backed Tyson.

But after the prelim deesaster, Tyson for Preuss sounds like a fair deal.

We need more speed and run, and delivery, from our mid-sized players.

IMO, we cannot play too many, not with speed and high disposal quality.

(Re Steven May)

What do you think is most important to the GCSuns, at this point for their club ?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
