Love watching Sydney play. Every dumb thing my team does that has me pulling my hair out…Sydney don't do. It's nice to watch a smart team that gets back off the mark quickly, has a guy on the goal-line at all times to stop easy out-the-back goals, and actually delivers the ball inside 50 with some semblance of forethought and strategy.

Giants are $2.35 against us next week

Don't worry, they'll be into $1.01 after West Coast [censored] us tomorrow by 50 points, despite us being +30 for inside 50s and +50 for clearances.

Lots of people wrote Sydney off a few weeks back, they just have too much experience, class and are well coached and drilled, can never write the bastards off

I can't stand them, especially after letting them of the hook last week.

SO if we beat WCE. Then out game v GWS is winner gets 5th! Loser of Haw v Syd gets 6th, winner 4th (i think?)

Adelaide wins tomorrow and Essendon wins Friday night next week and we'll be set in the 8 without winning a match.

So we have that at least…

Making the finals by default isn't much of an achievement, especially when you haven't beaten a single other team in the top 9.

Does it sound like I think it's much of an achievement?

Guys on the goal-line stopping knee-high scrubbed goals out of packs really do it for me even more than that. Fair to say I loved Jimmy Bartel play.

If North makes the finals, we're 9th. And we will have beaten a team in the 8.
If we makes the finals, North's 9th. And we will have not beaten a team in the 8.

I know which I'd prefer.

Been playing with ladder predictor now that GWS Lost  fair chance we play them away in 1st final if we make it

What chance of StKilda causing upset. Zilch.

I think the better question is what chance of Hawthorn doing something (Melbourne-like) stupid and losing to them.

We’re the team that seems to make those monumentally stupid mistakes.

It’s always good when the AFL put either the Saints or Carlton on prime time, won’t be surprised if after Fremantle’s effort today they get an extra three or four Friday or Saturday night games next year.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
