Too late in the season to blood Keilty. So Oscar stays unfortunately.

JKH is gone. Shame his best games were in his debut year five years ago.

Keilty is a mature recruit I can't see why he can't handle AFL level like Fritsch and Hannan.

Bit of an overreaction on OMac. Was in seriously good nick in the first half of the season and was lauded by some on this forum as a potential AA smokey. No, his form lately hasn't been great but the same could be said for our entire back line since Lever's injury.

JKH though is another story...

He was one of my favourite players back in 2014 when he burst onto the scene when he kicked three in a NAB Cup game and played a neat forward pressure role during the year. Can't say I've seen much since to suggest he's going to be around much longer.

Paging @binman.

JKH I can understand, but Oscar? He plays next week and, like the Jordan Lewis thread, makes this topic obsolete.

Cox kicked 5 on him v Coll
Better on Dixon but beaten by Westhoff a couple of times v Port
McCartin 2 goals 3
Played on no one v Freo
Schache takes him for 8 marks and 2.2
Hawkins kicks 7

A very ordinary 6 weeks and if that's enough for a walk up start next week then I feel bad for the VFL defenders who have won 10 games in a row.

Classic demonland.

Omac has had a great season. Get a grip, you gits.

Excellent first 6 weeks or so, not bad for the next 5 games, but he's been very ordinary for the last 6 weeks.

To each their own DS. This was the first game I've seen him completely shown up. You could argue Cox got him on QB, but I wouldn't say that personally. Superman couldn't have stopped the Pies midfield that day.

There isn't blame to be laid here. The defence on the whole is being outcoached. Omac can only do so much with that kind of silver service. I lay the blame squarely on the feet of the coaches... but since demonlanders need a head to roll that's playing in the side... Hogan should be the one to hang his head in shame.

Frost in 5 minutes on Hawkins - 2 big spoils and a great intercept mark from front position.

Oscar on Hawkins - caught 5m behind and unable to close any ground, getting turned around trying to wrestle and being 2nd to the ball.

Oscar looks like a player who needs to go back to the 2's and work on how to watch the ball and impact contests and not get caught reaching for body contact.

You want to make a case based on 5 minutes?

Ok. I'll make the case based on 4 months of football. OMac has played a lot of good footy this year. Frost hasn't.

If you wanna blame someone, talk about the coaches who left Omac on him when he was getting done. And to be honest, they were probably looking at round 1 when he last had him... how many goals did he kick that day?

5 minutes of Frost... Please.

Tom Hawkins kicks 8

1 on Frost which he crumbed from a throw in

1 when he outmuscled Max in a ruck contest

1 when he managed to get a toe to the ball in the square

3 from lace out deliveries at pace on his chest from Kelly and Danger

Omac stays

Frost gets drawn in between the ball & his opponent (in no mans land) to late getting back to Hawkins making position in the corridor, marks the ball passes to Toohey & the rest is history.

We've got problems with our defence, no doubt about that but Frost is part of the problem, not the solution.

What was he doing for the other 95 minutes of the game?

What a load of rubbish. Nobody is going to stop a forward when the ball comes in that fast.

100%. On our forwards and mids. Lazy last quarter.

why yes, i do like drugs, however, on the topic of JKH & O-Mac..

JKH should only be played against rubbish sides/if we have no one else to play. Personally, iId rather have Bugg in the team (or ideally VDB).

I've never been a fan of O-Mac, however, I believe the calls for his head after this game are crazy. He wasn't to blame for the loss. The coaches messed up and should have altered our structure, or at least NEVER put him on a power forward. He is a skinny kid. Maybe quick between the ears, but weak and half-hearted as all get out. I feel he has a place in the team, but only as a third defender. Also, he needs to stop dumping the ball out of our defensive 50 'just to get rid of it'. in games of no consequence/shitty opposition, he has time and has good footskills. these all but disappear against decent opposition.

so. depending on the situation, JKH I would say should not be played and O-Mac stays, but NEVER gets a power forward again. also, the coaches need to adjust their....oh why bother...

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
