If we dont win, then we are pretty much done for the year. Zero excuses with there best player out and Lurch missing as well.

No Joke.

I don't think that will happen.

For what its worth, I think several key players are playing hurt, I've watched Neville Jetta quite closely this year, he's never played better, but i can remember 5 or 6 times vividly this year of him getting absolutely smashed and taking a minute or two to collect himself, he must be hurting...

Coupled with our upcoming draw, Geelong and Adelaide away in successive weeks, playing in Darwin prior to that and Footscray in between, all in the space of 20 days...pretty brutal if you ask me...

Edit* in saying that if we make finals from here it will be a bloody good effort.

Not really. We lost to North by 4 points in rubbish conditions, then to a hot GWS, then belted StKilda for all but a lapse in the 3rd quarter. Sports science has come along way in the last few years. If we lose to Dogs next week it won’t have anything to do with the conditions on Saturday night

We don’t play effing sports science. We were even shagged out after the hot Alice game and Adelaide have been crap after that game too. Jones even admitted we were buggered by the heat. Footy is a winter game to be played in winter conditions and not in the equatorial tropics unless acclimatised. These games are an effing disaster for us.

My 'glass half full' attitude copped a major crack around the rim against the Saints.  If we can't beat Freo I'll be writing-off the year , and my glass will be deposited in the nearest recycling bin.

If that happens, with the current state of recycling your glass will likely end up in landfill along with our finals chances.

if we lose to freo

..........don't bother reading joeboy's "my three word player analysis v freemantle". it won't be pretty

..........in fact stay clear of demonland for a few days unless you are a masochist esp if feeling suicidal

It will be the worst meltdown in Demonland history, Mark Neeld, 187 etc all included.

I can guarantee you that.

I'll be straight after Dave Misson and co.

Possibly not..I mean who was expecting 187 ??

Im certainly not expecting much come Sat.

We were beyond 5hyte back then Bee, this is without Fyfe and Sandilands and coming from 8-3. It will be 4th loss on the trott.

It will be beyond Armeggedon on here this will be it.

no we werent particularly a good team back then....but id be very surprised if anyone other than Nostradamus picked that result.

Not having Sandilands means theyll probably lose the ruck....so have nearly every team playing Max Gawn...makes no difference...other teams better at clearances than us still.

Not having Fyffe should hurt.

Our history at that ground isn't too flash..... Freo ought to be a little better aclimatised atm to warmer things.

If Richo can figure us out you can BET  your house Ross Lyon  will know what Goody is thinking..before Goody is thinking it !!

This might if we're lucky be a close game

At least there won’t be many boos from the Darwin crowd if we lose. The half dozen angry Dees supporters will be drowned out by the cheers for Freo.

.... then it may just be the last game I watch this year. No Sandilands and Fyfe, Stephen Hill milestone game with his brother Brad returning after his misdemeanour and the game being in Darwin, all presents itself (somehow weirdly) as a recipe for Deesaster. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we choke again given the pressure on the club to perform.

Forward lines and back lines are all over the shop and our mids are out of gas with 8 weeks left in the season. If we can't get things to click this weekend, the season is down the gurgler.

You certainly won't be posting about it on Demonland, the server will go up in flames.

Not before my television.

The good thing about watching delayed/recorded telecasts is that you can fast forward through the stressful [censored] with an eye on the scoreboard to see if we bounce back (i didn't see much of the last qtr v stkilda) and can also log into demonland when the meltdown is 10 pages deep. You just have to unsubscribe to the demonland podcast becasey they may release an 'emergency crisis' podcast after a loss that spoils the result before you've seen it lol

I wouldn’t be surprised as teams have worked us out, apply pressure and we go to custard.

Negatives after a win??

No i wouldn’t think that at all

You are a very sick man

Winners make finals and the the MCG is full of expectation ..

People can think whatever they want on here, but for you to say i will find negatives after a win is just petty rubbish.

I hate losing & i hate slack performances, of which we see too many

but i will never tire of wins

You opened yourself up for this.

This was you after we beat Gold Coast in Alice Springs last year:

No don't make excuses for the 2nd term.

It was very bad and needs to be seriously addressed.

This is not a win to celebrate.

That said Jeff Garlett can have a cold one

Cheers, titan.  There would be numerous more examples of this if you had the time to go back through the post match threads.  He won't admit he does it, but it's there in plain English.

For someone who hates it when others judge his thoughts, replies and what he thinks, it seems hypocritical of you to call me a 'very sick man'.

Takes one to know one I guess.

I love your posts but where has your wingman Dee whatevever  gone ?

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
