Ablett in the team has sapped his mojo.

Hasnt been the player he was all year.

The guy’s name is Menegola right? Why are they calling him Men N Gola?

Go Doggies.

Look as if they could run out of steam though.

And, at least for now, another good contest in prime time.

Jeelong player sling tackles a dog and gets a free kick right on the half time siren.

Dahlhaus is back on. He has that outside pace and good ball use we need more of.

I wonder if we've spoken to him as an alternative to Gaff.

What a commentary team! The demented shrill of McAveney, the stupidity of BT (big turd), Carey (top bloke/role model), the inane comments of that imbecile Ling. Don't mind Richo.

I agree that the Bulldogs will probably run out of steam.

The Doggies came so close to doing us a favour last week,  please let them get over the line this time.

I have put on Frank Zappas sheik yerbouti instead of listening to Bruce. Go dogs. Geelong have a zero record after the bye.

?

This is a great game. The dogs are just hanging on with barely a bench. Would help us if they could win. But enjoyable to watch so far.

What an album!!!

Anyone else hate Narkle?

...sorry kid, not your fault but Bruce FFS the kids had a couple of kicks and a goal and you would think he was the 2nd coming.

Good start to the third for the doggies. If they can get a few more up they might hold on

What’s his first name?

Ed Richards is looking good. Great tackle on Dangerflog.

Yes, he's a great pick for the doggies. And a big FU to Eddie that they couldn't have access to him!

It's easier to say now, but in the build up to the game with that [censored] Dangerfield strutting around with a fishing rod, I had a funny feeling that tonight's game could be the beginning of the end for the Geelong era. Ablett and Hawkins are almost done, while Dangerfield and Selwood are getting on too. They lose this tonight and I reckon they miss the top 8 and certainly miss the top 4.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round.
