He has gone way downhill since appearing on the Footy Show with mindless Sam and Creepy Eddie. He is immature and considers himself 'a cut above' whilst producing nothing exceptional for so long - a typical case of ego-mania - when potential is not released from hard work and training, and purposeful execution on the field. A hard and severe Casey workout is required to quell his impressions of grandeur for a firm focus on fitness, core skills improvements and his role for the team. Disappointing season that so easily could be rectified - and in a very short period of time.

You know, I think you might be right.

I don't watch that show any more, as its too 'ticketed' for moi.

that's an interesting scenario.

And knowing how E'd gets the old 'whiteline fever' about his fa'v colours, I wonder if he got into 'traccas' head space. ?

do you know his skin folds? maybeeez he has big bonez?

I can see his bodyshape,, and that he lacks 'definition',  for someone who has been in the AFL system now, for this many years.

I want to see him lean and mean for next season,  IF he wants to be one of the elite midfielders in the competition.

Has improved quite a bit in the past few weeks but still has one infuriating habit...

He tries too often to kick off one step and ends up floating the ball too high.. When he gets a free or a mark he needs to get back quickly and assess options. Always feels like he is going to kick into the man on the mark.

Has also had a terrible year goal kicking....

So today Petracca has a shot on goal and gets too close to the man on the mark. Ends up sky-ing the ball and it is touched on the goal line.

When will someone at the club tell him to get back off the mark and have a proper [censored] kick??

He, Does not work hard enough.

When was the last time we saw him sprint to a loose ball, wide near the boundary ?  like Hannan today?

He's lurking still around the contest, like a sniping fish, waiting to pick off an easy feed.

I want to see him work hard put real run into has game.

He uses the ball much the same way, not wanting to sprint for any apparent reason.   Kicks off a step, or 2 steps...   just potshots.

Doesn't work to get himself into killer positions with the footy__

He doesn't seem to like using his legs to push his frame around the ground, at speed.

I think he's a lazy footballer.   And he gets slow in the mind as well at times, during matches.

Actually today I thought he worked very hard when he didn't have the ball. Seemed to chase and pressure the opposition into mistakes.

He's still not doing enough IMO for someone with his abilities and he needs to be the guy that can nail those kicks goal like the one that fell short today.

That's what I'm getting at.   So many of our players need to work smarter.

But for me, I think tracca needs to work much harder,  and cover more kilometers, as a mid.   And I want to see him sprinting... not just a burst here or there.

We tend to go too easy on some of our higher draft picks whilst we idolise them.

And some are given games prematurely, when they hadn't earned games.

I think tracca falls into this category a little.  So I think his work-rate is a bit iffy.   He's too heavy.

His development is a bit of a worry at the moment, doesn’t really impact games, is fantastic against lesser teams.  We need him over the next few weeks, Clarry and Brayshaw are miles a head of him at the moment.  Hoping he finds that form where he’s breaking packs and getting goals.

Only watched it on TV and we commented on the last quarter, where is he? How much time was he on the ground then. He did some good things but seemed to disappear for long periods. The last quarter I thought was set up for him to grab control of the match but we hardly saw him.

He's Colin Sylvia v 2.0 at this stage. Here's hoping he can have an impact in finals and develop his body further over preseason.

He's nothing like Sylvia.

Some of his field kicking is sublime...Col wouldn't have even seen the teammate let alone hit him up.

The kid is 22yo, missed a full season with a knee & is playing a position that by it's nature means he's going to have quiet patches.

He had a significant impact on the result today.

He's no De Goey unfortunately. I hope he proves me wrong in the next season or two, but he's not a match-winner like the former.

Worked his arse off today. I think he really needs another preseason and a much bigger tank. Also when he goes to kick long he sort of telegraphs it and makes it look so obvious. Not a bad thing but I’d just like to see him settle into a few of those kicks.

I was highly critical of him a while back but he seems a little more grounded now. He seems to seek and crave the “attaboy” comments and is still immature in many ways. I think he lacks some self belief deep down and see him as a work in progress still requiring a rocket up his rear. When  things finally fall into place for young Christian he will be virtually unstoppable. Massive up side.

I still think he needs to go back a few steps off the mark. Tends to kick too close to the mark off a step and is often miss kicking or having kicks smothered/touched.

I really like the tools he has. He could be anything he wanted to be at AFL level, but it's up to him. Some more run could make him elite. Still easily best 22 for me, but other kids have pushed past him with their development which shouldn't happen with his sublime talent.

What? He is consistently marking a release kick on the boundary. Week after week.

his ability to keep his feet in and around the contest is superb

the thing i want to see him do more is not 'pop' his kicks up more - he gets too close to the man on the mark and skies them every time

He's not covering enough kilometers at speed. I want to see a little less 'burst'.....  and more gut run, with sprints with the ball. I think he plods about the field too much.

He needs to lose some weight in puppy fat, and trim back to lean muscle.  He is a naturally powerful man.  That will remain in him.

.

Take a little bow,  Christian.

Your intensity today, was a big step up... and a big help to the side, in today's win...

Nup. Not a fan. Has talent, adds value. Nowhere near what he could be giving us.

He's a rich man's Colin Sylvia for me at this point.

When u put someone down, the saying is he is a poor man's Colin Sylvia, by saying he is a rich Man's, is saying he is like him but much better, stupid.

Edited by don't make me angry

Look I still havent seen him produce a breakout game apart from queens birthday last year but his marking is great and today he was very good. Except when he stupidly chose to play on and had a shot for goal when he could have just gone back and had a set shot.

However he could be an x factor these finals. I expect him do something special on the big stage.

Sylvia was god-awful. Petracca is just awful.

Smart.

That's just wrong Colin was a very good player, he just did not work harder enough, often enough.
