It goes to show how important some ‘old’ steady hands are to a teams structure. Put a fork in St Kilda for 2018, Richo first to go?

The Aints are in a world of pain Shades of 2007 me thinks.

Richo will be gone by tuesday.

(Early Call, yes) But he aint going to save this train wreck. He needs to find a good media job.

He’s not a coach

Saints fans talk up Jade Gresham like he’s going to be the next GAJ. Looks like a putz to me.

They dont have much to choose from to get excited about, serious lack of talent on that list.

McCartin and Billings were two guys they pinned their hopes on, two top 3 picks.. both look to be busts.

I tuned out.  I look at the saints and have flashbacks of the bad days for us. Going to the footy and the game would be over by 1/2 time.

As for the suns my god they look like they will never be successful.

Isn't it wonderful to bathe in the misfortune of others!!!!

I'm at Etihad and I'm pleased to say that the bald boofhead umpire Nichols is here umpiring tonight. That should mean he won't umpire on Monday. There's something to be thankful for.

Id prefer it to be essenscum orcollingwood down there.

i just heard on the radio that gc did not take 1 mark in the forward 50. How does that happen.  These are professional well played athletes.

So many putrid teams.. no wonder theres gonna be a bunch of top teams with massive percentages.

So many of these bottom teams are just rubbish. We really have to keep winning ( understatement I know).

Indeed. However, as long as it's not us ...................... enjoy!

The AFL will give 3 priority picks this year, Saints, Suns and Blues.

You could give Gold Coast Mandrake the Magician and it wouldn't make a difference.

I have found the Melbourne v Adelaide game from a few weeks ago.  Watching the 2nd half and seeing lever dominate and realising what we will miss. Anyway im yet to see this game. More enjoyable than whats on tv. Even flicked to the wallabies game and they were losing to the Irish

The only magic on the Goldy is seeing the coach disappear a KFC bucket.

You know you are in trouble as a team when your coach is really pleased with a  honourable loss like richo was last week, the only game plan richo has is pressure when the oppo has the ball, when that pressure is not there they have no idea how to move the ball.

We can go on about the Saints missing Petracca, or even Brayshaw, but nether of them would make a lick of difference to this list.  They are mediocrity personified.

Feel sorry for Stewie dew got offered the dees job but didn’t want to move, now he has wrecked his coaching career taking the suns job

I don't think Dew rejected the job but Sydney stood in his way as he was contracted at the time (there's a gentleman's agreement that clubs should let contracted assistants leave if they're going for other senior coaching jobs but Sydney argued it technically wasn't a senior coaching job due to the succession plan).

never a pp for saints, they where the most outspoken when we asked for one, and if they ask for 1 our club should shout at the top of their lungs against it.

How did St Kilda beat Brisbane.

There is no possible way Tom Lynch stays with Gold Coast absolutely no way. Board metricon up and give the key to the Tasmanian Daredevils.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front.  They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
