MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 10

I’m stoked for the fact we’ve named an unchanged line up, obviously a cloud will hang over TMac’s fitness but a settled side is exactly what we need. Hopefully Viney is better for the run last week and will start to show more this week.

Stating the bleeding obvious to say this game is our chance to really put ourselves on the map. Time to prove ourselves.

I was hoping Vince got rubbed out, just mad to play Vince and not hunt, if hunt is traded and Vince signed up again I will spew.  Garlets papers have been marked, might well be honest with him and came out and tell him,

Hunt is not in the side due to his lack of form and inability to win the ball and deliver it to one of our own players. He was one of the main culprits who just bombed it when winning the ball. He is no doubt one of our better players when in form but can't see him getting back soon. With Garlett you need to remember that only a few weeks ago he basically won us the game against Lions. He has plenty of good footy in him for us and to stamp his papers is plain stupid. In form Jeff is in our best side.

Vince is having a good year.  He is not necessarily doing well in terms of stats, but he is playing a key role in shutting down the opposition and providing good (and, thankfully, calm!) leadership this season.  Don't undersell the value he has added to the side this year.

Vince turns the ball over when under no pressure more then anyone in the team, and often turns it over when we have the run of play, and is slow as anything, if you are happy with the oldest play on the list and a player like hunt not playing,, that's crazy.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
