I'm not sure how some of the people on this website function in the real world. "Mummy, the mean man on the TV didn't say nice things about my football team". If you don't like the commentary, turn the sound down.

now you are talking .... I would pay extra for crowd noise only not to mention the ability to access different camera angles.

The hyped up commentary is really jarring ... to me at least

Can recommend watching the game on tv with sound on 'mute' and listen to the radio.

Much better as they described the actual game and don't indulge the 'fan boy' stuff, nor reminisce too much.  There is a few seconds delay but it didn't bother me.

Watson is a Hird and Thompson apologist. His son also got stripped of a Brownlow due to drug cheating. At this point in time he isn't getting much right, I'm ok if he doesn't like MFC. As for Bartel, he has always been very sulky. Good player, great to watch, probably knows his football, but just a sulky type.

This is absolutely crap !!! These two footballers have been Greats !! Get the chip off your shoulders and learn to accept criticism. I listened to his broadcast after i got home from the game and found his and Bartels comments quite constructive.

Just because they were great footballers it doesn't make them exempt from criticism. Both men have an issue with MFC and have been called out on it. Watson called out on other things, but that is what you get when you defend drug cheats.

My partner who knows nothing about football thinks he is scary...she can't stand him and switches off as soon as Tim appears.

It's interesting to get a view that's in no way based on football or his part in it.

Honestly the tone of this whole thread is akin to us getting flogged by St Kilda kicking 10 goals in the last Q.  Tim Watson and Jimmy Bartels did not cause any Melbourne players to make mistakes today or any day for that matter.

If this how we win , then we would be better off losing and obviously some people then can find someone to blame.

After attending the game yesterday, and reading comments in this thread about Tim Watson’s anti Melbourne commentary I was interested to view the replay.

What I heard was Watson, Bartel and  Taylor praising and criticising both teams when they felt. the teams and players deserved it. Watson certainly praised Oliver, Hogan, Gawn and Brayshaw often enough (the praise for Oliver by all commentators bordered on the effusive). That Watson gave credit to StKilda players from time to time is understandable and necessary.

I cannot say I’m a great Tim Watson fan, but anti Melbourne commentary - no!

Oh Garry. Please stick it up to Watson tomorrow. Will be interesting his take on the outcome today but I bet the nuf nuf wont have the b-lls to admit he might have got it wrong. Prove me wrong Timmy.

Tim seems to hate us.

I've noticed him as well.

A litta bit narcarcyst, i think is uncle timmy.. a wee bit vindictive.  and a whole lotta biass for Saints, and Bummers.

Just another of yesterdays hero's from that team of the 80's... he and hird also, seem to like  tasting their own pizzz.

Me as well.

And to think he went to the parents to alleviate their minds, at the beginning of the drugs saga.

I take everything Watson says these days, with a truckload of sea salt

I cannot watch him on the sports news, and he spoils the talking footy show.

I wish he'd go-away.

Is he anti Melbourne? Perhaps just anti Gary Lyon. Spends every week day morning with him. The two constantly giving each other s h i t

They both along with Brian Taylor are constantly giving me the 5hit5. I can't turn it off as my Boss drives me to work in the morning, which I am tho very thankful. He's a Filth supporter too.

Yeh, you blokes, just stick to abusing the bloody maggots, you're right on there all the time

I think Tim and Jimmy are a bit like some of us, always expecting the worst. I suppose when you look at it,we still can't be trusted. We can't seem to beat up the weaker sides thou we are beating them. Time will tell when we play a top side again. Winning games is the only thing that counts, media praise or a put dowm is meaningless.

It's not so much that Tim Watson was anti-Melbourne, more that there were moments/comments where he was clearly barracking for St. Kilda.

Timmy for all his wonderful qualities, is such a lightweight in terms of his footy commentary. Of course he is not on his own, but somehow I always expect more from Tim however his utterances are always disappointing!

Very much a case of not living up to expectations , his own or others.

Strangely he pops up year after year, looking a little more self important but nevertheless ridiculous with his tight pants, brown shoes and heavily rimmed glasses.

Tim is actually a nice bloke. He is also self effacing and funny.

The dislike for him on here is not deserved.

One comment and some on here become so precious it is just ridiculous.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
