Angus and Gaff are meeting to clear the air. I'd think Gaff is def considering joining Melbourne otherwise i wouldn't see the point in meeting Angus. I also think it's important to consider people around the situation have said it won't be an issue (e.g. Jonesy and Mark Brayshaw saying they forgive him)

DL and Redleg beat me to it.

I wonder if Gaff will chat to Angus when he is in Perth next week? And I wonder if Gus will go over early

Where did you hear this? It's been said a couple of times here but all I've heard is that Hamish is organising for Andrew and Andrew to catch up

It was mentioned last night on AFL360.

So you think Mark Brayshaw is being diplomatic rather than genuine in his take on the incident and his plea for forgiveness? Did you even listen to him on the radio? Sheesh!

You've been devouring too many G&Ts on your holiday!

I'll take the man at his word rather than insinuate cheap angles.

I think he is being both diplomatic and genuine

You can take a different opinion

And your answer to my question is?

Of course I haven't spoken to Gus. Never met him in my life.

I'm just sharing my opinion on a supporter forum like everybody else.

This is the sort of stuff that the moronic media along with the AFL would consider to be some sort of preconceived plan put in place by MFC to ensure smooth transition. I would leave it alone knowing what we know about how these bast%$#& operate.

these two jerks?

Bottom line is this:

Shocking act, deserved 8 weeks.

Doesn't make him a bad bloke and the suspension and fall out is punishment enough.

Would still be superb to have him at Melbourne.

You would assume Gus would, in time, also move on from what has happened and welcome him to the side with open arms, as will we.

Hamish could do with some dental work....

I can’t understand why Gaff would meet with Gus. It’s none of Gus’ business, to be frank. According to Mark Brayshaw, Hamish and Gaff are close mates, so it would make sense that Hamish would arrange a meeting between the two Andrews to help each get peace of mind, but I can’t see why anyone owes Gus an explanation. I reckon someone has just got their wires crossed and the misinformation has spread like wildfire as it does.

The Brayshaw family are going to meet with Gaff in Perth next week to clear the air... And then jump him! Lol... ?

I can't confirm where i heard it but it was no mistake i heard Gus and Gaff, Gaff is currently in Melbourne so it makes sense.

I've heard from a good source that Andrew, Andrew, Hamish, Gus, Elvis and Nessie had all played a round of lawn bowls last week...

It is a good idea for Gaff to clear the air with Angus also. He is Andrews BIG brother!

And it is better for him to do it sooner rather than later. Before he signs with the Dees.

It would be a shame if Gaff didn’t attend the Brayshaw Family golf day next week! So they can hit golf balls at him... ?️‍ And then bury him in a bunker!

I'm suprised a bigger deal hasn't been made out of our interest? Do the journo's not know or is our interest even genuine?

I've heard it repeated that North are the front runners.

I'll take it a step further and say I fully believe the umpires are taking on field instructions from a 3rd party via their headsets. The number of very late calls this year has skyrocketed, and in 1 particular game a voice could clearly be heard saying '15 seconds' when players were lining up on goal. The umpire would then yell to the kicker for the 15 seconds. Who was it?

Like the telemetry in F1... they could reset the engine via WiFi, if they wanted to...   Who's to say they don't interfere with the No 2 drivers car, late in the race ?

I don't like all the potential for interference over the airwaves, and via radio 'code', alerting the No2 driver to start to hold other drivers up.

Lets hope all Umpire communication goes direct to air.

I may be able to work with them, but it would be like the situation at Adelaide a few years back.

Different sides of the changeroom and don’t ask me to socialise.

Unlike many on here, i don’t think he missed.

Gaff squared up Brayshaw and went Bang.

If that were my brother lying on the ground, i couldn’t have a beer ? with Gaff

i would just want nothing to do with him, he crossed the line.

But it will be fascinating to see what pans out,

What IF it were your brother that went bang on Gaff ???

would you have a beer with your brother?

Nat Jones and JLT out of contract end 2019. Bernie and Pedo this year. Ballic gone.

Does this leave a possible massive war chest to chase S May or Josh Kelly- or both?

Josh Kelly may be too expensive, in my imagination.???  radar.

But maybe Whitfield may not be as expensive?

sMay I reckon is a must this year, as OMc has regressed since lever got injured,,, so OMc I think, needs more time to mature... Re Finals.

Should he fly to Afghanistan and clear the air with Will too? He’s the biggest brother of all.

I get the need for Gaff to mend bridges with Andrew and why Hamish would want to facilitate it. I can see why Craig Gaff would reach out to Mark Brayshaw. I can’t see why anybody would involve Angus in any way. It has nothing whatsoever to do with him.

Moon he is beyond reaching, I think it’s time to let this one go... let him sink to the depths he seems to enjoy it down there.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
