seven ins just blows my mind ... sorry will have to wait until they pare the side down tomorrow.

Stretch was definitely unlucky by comparison to many of those left in the side.

Good luck to Spargo. He does have good ball sense.

I believe you are suggesting he played at a less than optimum level... something shared by a number of players who are still included in the team was the gist of my post.

It's going to be painful to watch if ANB plays a 6th consecutive poor game in a row. I really don't see the reasoning behind picking a player who's only strength is his running capacity at this moment...I would have thought an ability to dispose of the footy would be a higher priority. Times are a changing...

He did lay 9 tackles against Richmond, so not exactly "done nothing".

Ok he tackles.  How many years on the list?  Wanna see improvement!

Just saw the bombers side, if we don’t beat that side we’ve got serious issues.

Famous last words SFebey.

This is the MFC after all.

5 goals and BOG in a loosing side.  Seriously don't understand why he isn't in the side (or wasn't last game against the Tigs for that matter).  Weid still offers way too little other that a hope that he will one day be great.

Pedo is the Dean Jones of the MFC.

I actually like Pedo but he hasn't really delivered. And its not just us. He's 31yo and has only played 70ish games at two clubs. North didnt rate him either...

Harmes may have laid 9 tackles, but he was caught with the ball 3 times giving away free kicks.

Looks like Spargo will debut according to the club website- Garlett is in trouble methinks.

Spargo is in for more speed, it will be one of ANB, Harmes or Vince who goes.

They don’t usually drop anyone named in the starting 18

You got the 'Less Than'' part right DJ.  I'm just struggling to work out what it was less than!

Yeah I know mate, I should’ve just shut up. I’d be devastated even we lost to that side

We are in a bit of trouble.

Players retained who have hardly had a kick.

Players selected who have hardly had a kick at VFL level (exception Spargo)

Players selected who lack a yard (Lewis)

Player overlooked who has been our best at VFL level (Pedo)

What to do?  I really have no idea.

We are in a pickle.

Your right. Team looks slow with Vince & Lewis in the starting 18. Vince, ANB & Harmes must be on notice.

My interchange would be TMac, Spargo, Frischte & Garlett. All know how to kick a goal, and we have plenty of players who can go in the backline if needed.

We have serious issues - will be seriously serious issues if we can't get over them Sunday. Expecting a nailbighting shite-fest - possibly ending in a rush for remaining seats to Noosa in September.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
