Another match lost at selection. Wagner ahead of Tyson or Brayshaw is mind numbingly stupid stuff. Did the selection panel not learn anything from repeated mistakes last year?

If Viney was in, it would have been the other way round.  Big crash and bash boy.

Does Maynard do much of that though? Or do we just expect him to because of his size? I haven’t seen him play all that much.

I think Maynard will tag Selwood but Wagner ahead of Tyson is unbelievable.

Final teams announced and Tyson and Brayshaw are NOT playing - can anyone enlighten us why? Are they injured?

Seems a strange decision for such a big game!

Wagner gives us another back, which is good for team balance as it could free up Jones or Hunt to move onto wing, Salem into middle, etc...

Maybe Maynards in to do some bodywork on the tag the Cats will try to put on Oliver or Petracca..?

So Josh Wagner is the difference between winning and losing?  Have some faith my friend.  Let's allow the game to play out before we curse and moan about a choice at selection.

I hope so, seeing Vince, Jones and Lewis are all selected.   Bernie as tagged, perhaps?  Lewis and Jones rotating off back pocket?  Will then need Maynard to get the pill.  Lets see how it plays out!

Wagner over Tyson? Absolutely ridiculous. I was hoping Goodwin would stop playing games at the selection table after he cost us big time in the last month of last season.

Brayshaw being left out is clearly to do with his emergency tooth situation during the week. There's no doubt it would have put him out from a preparation pov.

Surely one of them will come in...   we are lacking midfield depth looking at that team.

If they are fit, which we must assume they are as they are emergencies, I am staggered by this decision and not so confident of a win now!

Can only suggest that Brayshaw might not be 100% after the wisdom teeth and they might like another week of training with Tyson after that minor injury hold up. Although I think there's a chance one will come in if it is looking being wet Sunday arvo.

Shout-out to the "Dom Tyson is best 22 lock" lovers.

They’ll all be proven right come this weekend. It appears the selection panel haven’t learnt from their repeated proven mistakes made last year. Frustrating to not put our best team out on the park and give ourselves the best chance of winning.

We will [censored] this side.. They got stuff all other than duckwood and Ablett.

10 goal win...

Don't stress my fellow demons. The coaches know who's 100%

Being discussed in team selection thread. Wagner ahead of them is a mistake. Multiple time top 5 bnf midfielder is clearly a better selection than a rookie listed half back flank battler who should be delisted come years end. So frustrating!

We'll see.

Please don't blame a loss on the fact that Dom was left out though.

Thought Tyson and Brayshaw showed far more in the preseason than Wagner or Maynard.

Wagner’s decision making skills are poor and I didn’t think Maynard got enough of the ball for someone trying to break into the side. Maybe a tagging role??

Tyson is a jet in the wet. If it rains Sunday he has to be a late inclusion.

Wags must certainly be impressing someone down there.

Not in my best 25 or a particularly powerful fast or skilful defender. I will trust the club that see him every day, more than l trust myself.

We'll soon all be able to assess his on field performance. I really really hope he has a strong game, as do the other 21 players.

As for Dom and Gus, what would any supporter know?

I feel somewhat misled on both Jack and Tom by the club's public statements prior to this week.

"Cloak and dagger"  has never been a strength of our player management and it appears not much has changed in 2018.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
