Ben Guthrie's reply to me with the match sim update. He still thinks Oliver is TBC.

It sounds like they may make the Final call on Oliver, on matchday, to me.

Except that the coach has confirmed he's playing.

Conservative, I asked today, it is slow and steady with both, Club in no win situation, rush them back and exacerbate the problem etc etc

All on track then i guess..

You could've guessed this timeframe from Misson's injury report.

10 days to de-load and then they have to re-load which you imagine is another 10-15 days. That's 3 weeks right there. Then another 3 weeks to get to match fitness levels.

10 days to de-load? You have to be kidding. I can de-load instaneously. Go on to crutches or wear a boot. Voila.

Agree with other time estimates though.

Oliver spent the first hour doing various leg drills with Pat McKenna and Declan Keilty.

He then went over to join main group but got sent back over to rehab with Nathan Jones and Tim Smith and forced to do some three-on-two drills. At this point it looked all over, red-haired ruck rover.

But seconds later he bobs up and joins in goalkicking snaps with main group and then gets a gig in match simulation. He doesn't dominate and at one stage is caught and tackled hard by Joel Smith. But he looks like the old Olly, by Golly. He's in, barring pulling up mega sore.

Apart from no Viney and T-Mac, there's also no VDB (as usual). But ANB and Jordy both train and look good.

But BOG in my opinion from the scratch match is Melky - for a guy that was so out of favour, he now looks like a genuine A-grader.

I left just before Goody annointed Bayley I think and whilst I love our new Fritta and have him in my SuperCoach team, I can't help but feel disappointed that we weren't loyal to our older brigade before allowing our excitement to take hold. One of Pedo or Bugg will now get the flick for ANB, and both have been impressive all pre-season. Maybe I'm old school, but I'd rather go with the devil you know before brining in the kid.

Thanks for the report.

The difference is that Fritsch is 21, so if he's considered best 22 it's a no brainer.

We have a game to win.

I was just quoting what Misson said. They will spend 10 days off feet and then start to ramp up again.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
