When was the last time Rehn got something right?

How he gets airtime on SEN is beyond me.  That said, he's not on his own.

Don’t know mate, sorry I posted it.

Tom Rehn on SEN said Dees were circling at around 4pm today

Maybe we left it a bit late if we were only circling at around 4pm today after he had re-signed with Port? However, SWYL seems to think we can bend the time-space continuum by passing on Wines in the draft when his first league game was a BOG.

I’ll rephrase it for the last time, he’s gone and never coming so let’s get over it. I never held hope that he’d come to Dees or want, I actually didn’t think the club would pursue him.

Tom Rehn at around 4pm yesterday on SEN said Dees had been circling”

Not now, the way we have developed recently. we don't need him now.  We need more pace and nimbleness.

Don't forget Maynard as well.

But I wouldn't mind Degooey.

I have a theory that when we lost Wowie in 2002 some soul left the club of that group.

No-one leaves this cuurent team . Incl the rubbish talked about hogan.

The tightness of the players cannot be overestimated.

Good call, although it is as much about the players you bring in as the ones who go out. Not only did Woewodin leave, but we brought in Heffernan and Moorcroft who never wanted to leave Essendon, and Fatboy Pickett who was there just for the money.

Thats true, I remember feeling shocked, with the loss of Woewodin. It felt like another blow to me as a supporter.

But a sociable based afl club, as distinct from a hardened title hunting AFL side, 'can be', different things.

That team, and this current team, are so far removed in mindset, its not funny.

Heffernan was an absolute spud! His heart was never at Melbourne despite being a dees supporter as a kid. Came in with big expectations as he was touted to be Essendons next captain in waiting

Up there as one of the worst players to pull on the red and blue.

Gary Moorcroft was a gimp.

On face value - Viney = no.

If Viney's foot/toe flares up again in the next few weeks? Romance aside, it would be a better result for the team long team.

And yes i know that won't ever happen, especially since he is a captain, but as long as we're talking hypothetical's ...

NFW to down trading our top 3 pick, we don’t need anymore of his type.

Ok, watch Hawthorn somehow get Hill, Coniglio, Patton, while we do the same thing and stand there like Winnie the Pooh...

Trying to think outside the box a bit, Brad Hill will not solve all our problems...

1) We'll have pick 2.

2) Wouldn't be trading away pick 2 for a player that is not an automatic selection for any team in the league.

3) Wines has plateaued; he's not the player he looked like becoming after his first two years.  Not to say he's not a good player, but he's not a top shelf target.

Worth serious consideration definitely

We have the chance with pick 2 to get a very good player, rather than a 25 year old who is struggling at the moment and is another slow inside mid. We need real class badly.

Fair enough. Someone else suggested it and I thought your post was following the same theme.

Yes I would take Ollie for the right deal.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
