In that order from left to right based on 2017 apologies to Nibbler

Rather see Hogan (or Lever) than Lewis. No problem with the others. Think of the future!

Gawn, Hogan, the 2 captains, Petracca & Oliver. That is it, it's far too crowded otherwise.

Or if going with past champs as some want, just Jako & the Wiz so I'm g'teed to smile.

Daisy should be on a banner of her own for an aflw board, best women player in the land & genuine pioneer.

(Btw, after we win the flag in 2018 it should be PJ, Mahoney & Goody on the banner in 2019.)

It's not often that I choose to argue the point with people on this forum (too many big egos), however in this case I shall.

i can't remember an aboriginal player being represented on the banner ( if I'm incorrect I apologise, I can't of the top of my head remember every banner)) so I believe their contribution should be recognised. Now in my opinion that recognition should take the form this coming season of one of the teams very best players I.e. Neville Jetta. Even if Jetta was one of the teams journeymen I think it would be appropriate to have him or another player from the aboriginal community represented. It is a symbolic gesture and one that I believe would be appreciated by many people in the aboriginal (and wider) community: It represents inclusiveness.

If your sole criterion is merit, then Neville Jetta gets in. If the banner represented a broader view then he gets in for the above reasons as well. But of course merit was not the only factor driving who did or didn't get chosen for last seasons banner was it!

That is an excellent point DeeDee.  I never even thought that Nev was missing.

One of our best leaders in the 22 for years now, and he doesn't get a thought.

I feel cheaper now, for not thinking of Nev before this.

Sorry Nev.

Top 6 in the Bluey go on the banner, they must earn their spot!!!

Or both captains (there may be only one captain in 2018) and next top 4 in the Bluey.

How about having Goody on the banner? You know, get behind the coach, a bit of solidarity?

Crazy idea, I know......

he get's it on merit I thought.

2017 did not exactly merit a gold star

watt about. we just start the season with the Captains, of the team, & of the club.

Captains, & Pres & Ceo.

From the start of the season, some player's/admins, could get temporarily elevated, upon top form.

Like player's of the month, etc.

Putting kids on pedestals, has knobs on it.

Let them earn any accolades, as they should the jumper.

Our most wins since 2006,  his first year as coach with a huge injury toll to star players.

You're a hard marker, DJ.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
