My first inclusion that no one has mentioned is Maynard

ill guarantee barring injury he is in r 1

at risk jones the selfish butcher  who won’t be captain next year

Stupid trolling post.

Ppl do realise Jake is just another player....competing for a  spot !

Weideman  Kent and possibly Vince unlikely and a number of others not certainties.

That backline starts to look bloody good.

Poor old Neville Jetta not having to cover opponents 20cm taller than him because Lever is there to provide the well-timed chop-out.

Oscar not having to think too hard because now he can focus more on controlling his direct opponent.

Hibberd, Hunt and Salem all having much better opportunities to rebound because instead of a messy scrap after a rough spoil that doesn't fully clear the danger area, the incoming ball has been decisively cut off and fed out to them.

Funny thing, I think Lever coming in might just be the difference that gets Jetta an All-Australian nod.

B:        Jetta         O.Mc      Frost

HB:     Hibberd     Lever      Hunt

C:       Tyson       Jones     Vince

HF:   Melksham  T.Mc  Petracca

F:      Hannan    Hogan    Garlett

Foll:   Gawn,      Viney,    Oliver

Int: Lewis, Neal-Bullen, Brayshaw, Pederson

With many depth options (Stretch, Bugg, Harmes, Wagner, Weideman, Kent, Smith, Vanders).

It actually looks pretty good, eh. Even with assuming that Watts is not there.

Looks good.

And you've overlooked Salem and not considered Balic.

T mac forward.  O Mac at FB.  Hannan forward, Trac in the midfield.  Oliver in the midfield, Lewis behind the ball as ‘quarterback’.  Vandenberg and Maynard in the mix.  Not bad, need Stretch or other outside runner I think.

No personal history at all.Jones has been a super player for us but he is selfish ,he turns the ball over too much,as does tyson

and when the game is on the line he does not communicate or stand up.

i am sick of him running round the back for a quick stat and then bombing the ball long to a contest

he needs to change the way he plays

may be a half back roll is right for him in his last couple of years.i would play Maynard in the  in the midfield rotation ahead of jones and tyson

my view

Farrrk me that's shite view

Really concerned about leg speed and run and carry in some of these sides.  Particularly around centre and half forward.

Hard to tell until after the draft.

Balic is someone who with a strong pre season might push for selection

Is Balic on our list?

At present I would have:

B:    Jetta          OMac      Frost

HB:  Hunt         Lever       Hibberd

C:  Brayshaw    Oliver      Tyson

HF: Petracca    Hogan     Hannan

F:    Garlett        TMac       ANB

R:    Gawn         Jones        Viney

Int:  Lewis    Vince    Melksham    Salem

Always a favourite for us dreamers - the Rd 1 side, selected four months out. As much chance of it coming up as ... Richmond winning the flag in 2017!

Now that we have got our man I thought I'd go for it. Note: I'm one who rates VDB because of his gruntwork and his scary tackling and, barring injury, I reckon he's a monte.

B: Jetta Frost Hibberd

HB: Jones Lever Hunt

C: Brayshaw Oliver Lewis

HF: VDB T.Mac Nibbler

F: Garlett Hogan Petracca

Ru: Gawn Tyson Viney

Int: Salem, Harmes, Melky, Vince

Emerg: O.Mac, Hannan, Maynard

Good team but OMac plays in front of Frost for mine and I think Hannan will be even better next year.

Good problems to have

OMac must play regularly or TMac won't sign when it counts.

Anyone who thinks we don't have depth - try fitting in Vandenburg, Harmes, Neal-Bullen, Garland and Bugg to name a handful.

Where was that posted?

ANB is top 10 at the club imo. Way ahead of Salem, Brayshaw and Kent.

Silky skills of Salem... Can't play them all.

Please  go to the games and watch him play. I think you watch it on the idiot box, and if you don't you must have to much to drink before the game. NFI. Why am l wasting my oxygen you?  DERRRRRR

Trade period isn't over, and the draft is still to come.

Until then this is pointless.

Can I suggest that maybe Garland could have a place in the team as a Forward.

Problem is most of those guys aren't up to it. And you've got Kent in the side.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
