I have the greatest respect for this bloke and for the way he resurrected his career. Well done Nev, may next season be even better.

It took me a while to warm to Neville, but he had another very solid year. I know the difference was minute, but I'm surprised he didn't finish higher in the B&F given his consistency. Perhaps his lack of attacking play hurts his standing.

Jetta would have to be in the conversation with Jones & Viney as the best performed player of the Goodwin / Roos era. Full credit to him for turning his career around over the past four or five years.

he doesn't get beaten one on one by smalls or talls, he makes smart decisions with the pill in his hand, he knows when to attack and when to push back, and he found in 2017 that if he drifts forward he can even impact the scoreboard

If you don't have respect for Neville Jetta then you're following the wrong code of football.

I only really got excited about the Lever trade when I was thinking about how it would affect Jetta's role and the prospect of him being allowed to play to his strengths without constantly facing height mismatches.

Really looking forward to his 2018.

It was actually Roos, Nev had a miserable run through injury and being played out of position, went on to thrive under Rawlings as a defender

Goodwin, as he does with most players, will move the goalposts again for Nev this year, as he did last year  when  he 'demanded' Nev involve himself in attack more when opportunity arose

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024.     Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock for the final week of training for the 1st to 4th Years until they are joined by the rest of the senior squad for Preseason Training Camp in Mansfield next week.     A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players.
