GAMEDAY - Round 20

Featured Replies

WTF has happened since the Port game? Seriously. We play dumb pathetic football against the Roos and turn it in against this faux team. Sure the team needs to take a good hard look at itself, but so does the coaching group.

Pathetic all round.

Start of the quarter I thought. Wow, we're spreading well and hitting up targets by foot.

Then... they step up, we begin to over-handball and continue to miss tackles. Frustrating.

Predictable really. The next 3 quarters are going to tell us a LOT about this group

As Goodwin says it is a journey, trouble us we are at the start of it .

Ill wait till our shot with the wind...

Goodwin: "We played too quick into the breeze."

Jesus Hey Christ.

Haven't switched a game off early in a while. If we don't make a comeback, this will be the first for me. I'm not a masochist fortunately.

Form slump getting you down? Come see us. Hawthorn, Fremantle, Sydney, North swear by it.

Last week hurt like hell but we weren't all that bad. That quarter though our lowest low of season.

SLow learners

Fmd Chunks killing us...makes Tyson look innocent

We won't get close. GWS will play in second gear and still win from here. Our defensive accountability is pathetic.

NON learners !!!

Jetta is the only real consistent leader in this team.

We are getting nothing from the rest of the leadership team.

Getting tempting to taking a beer and go work in garden.

We just dont learn with the stupid handballs. We have been doing it for years and it costs is every single time.

Disappointed with both the team urgency and Goodwin's coaching this past two weeks. A finals spot is on the line. This is awful.

Giants have turned this into a scrap. Just what we should have done.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
