Still a number of clubs can win it. Touching up Port isn't anything to write home about.

Frustrating part for me is losses to north, freo and hawks who we all should have beaten would have us entrenched in the top 4, fighting for top 2.

Instead we are 10th.

Must win games against lower opposition next year.

Hawks loss is good for us. Another one removed from the race. 

St K winning is good for us IF we can win next week. Achieve that, and the odds will drastically improve for a finals campaign in 2017. Lose and we are cooked.

The only positive I can draw from the past month is that in the last four games, only one has been in relatively "normal" conditions which was the Port game.

Fingers crossed we get good weather the next three weeks where our high-possession game won't come unstuck like it has been.

Port are rubbish. They had a few easy kills early in the season to get them off to a good start,. but have been exposed badly against top 10 sides.

Though I have to give them credit for those early kills.  If Melbourne had taken its opportunities we would be top 4.

If you read my post in the game day thread you see I gave a positive spin on Melbournes finals chances.

I still have you winning your last 3, Essendon will lose to Adelaide next week and you guys should replace us in the 8.

I have not gloated today, or anything along those lines. Why would I, we are no better or worse than Melbourne, I've never come on here to start trouble. That's not what I'm about.

But when I see an absolute rubbish post like the very first one I replied to, I will reply.

 

My point was when you come on a opposition board when we are gutted post win and your team has taken our spot in the 8, you should expect some unhappy and irrational responses. for you to then argue back with mfc fans wasnt great form in my opinion (even if you are in the right)

the best thing to do was to wait until we had vented and then come back - again my opinion. you seem a nice chap and your posts are usually rational and reasonable so I dont mean for you to stop posting

No nonsense at the MRP this week.

• Mumford gets 2 weeks down to 1 for hit on Max
• Hawkins gets 3 (extra week for bad record) down to 2
• Duncan gets 2 down to 1
• Grundy gets 3 down to 2
• Merrett gets to 2 down to 1

Some leniency for Demons - Melksham got off. 

Will hurt both Geelong as they have Selwood out and hurt Ess as they have Fantasia out.

Tip: Geelong to miss top 4 and Ess to miss finals. 

And if Coll appeals the Grundy decision and he gets 3 he will miss the game vs Demons!

Richmond are blessed, No Hawkins, Selwood and Duncan against them this week and don't start me on their non-existent injury list.
