No he won't.

Also; Hore, Lockhart, Hannan, J.Smith, ANB, vB, Hunt &  Harmes all say hi from post-pick 40 and our best 22.

In reality, Harmes is the only one up to it

Not saying they're amazing, but reality is, that many best 22 players from picks after pick 40 is not "horrendous" as MB has tried to claim.

Others have expressed it may happen or even will happen.

None that it has...

That would be typical. We finish the season to qualify for pick 2 & end up facing a compromised draft to prop up the AFL's love child up north.

Again. Happened when they first came into the league when we finished 16th the year prior

*Note - LordNev neglected to mention the Wagner bros, Spargo, McKenna, Filipovic, Hulett, Johnstone, White, Omac, Stretch, King and a host of other illustrious post R1 recruits long since discarded.

Taylor's sensational recruiting of Oliver and a few others masks what has been overall a grand failure of recruiting over a five year period.

It is definitely a reason - no not the the only reason - but a reason why we sit where we currently sit at present.

17th.

And last year 4th, with basically the same list.

And yes, I didn't go through and list every single player recruited past pick 40, you can do that yourself if you wish, I was pointing out that a fair few of our best 22 have come after pick 40, so to say Taylor has been "horrendous" is just histrionics.

Sadly, that seems to be par for the course for your posts though.

Look, you listed ANB as one of your fave U/23's. We're done.

How many times are you going to start a thread about/post the same thing?

Couldn't this have gone in your 'Key forwards, let's go shopping' thread where you posted constantly about Brown? Or even your 'Should we trade our early pick' thread where you also posted about Brown?

At least your 'Hinkley is coach of the year' and 'Trade Petracca for Patton' threads have died the death they deserved.

Agreed LN. Well said

As does this one.

Talk about parallel universes if the future headline is ..."North appoints new coach and trade out star full forward "...

No chance but I do think we will go after a decent tall forward and Josh Jenkins is my bet.

No, I didn't.

Histrionics again, but now you've added flat out lies into the mix.

What's notable from the likes of LordNev and others in this thread is a lot of criticism but not a whole lot of creativity as to how you think we're going to get out of the biggest forward set up debacle since the mid 80's.

Easy to pot, not so easy to plot.

Let's hear some real thinkers step forward with support and/or alternatives. Because this problem isn't gong to solve itself. And I'll give you the tip - the immediate answer does not include the name Weideman.

Must sign key forward. Priority numero uno.

So we head to the G in 2020 to watch a geriatric Roughead trying to teach Weid how to mark a footy? How exciting.

Top eight here we come ?

He is still capable. Won’t play 22 games. It’s not about plying every game or pinning hopes on him winning us matches. He can still be dangerous tho and can work with McDonald and Weed as three talls. It frees up them to get the 2nd best defender or teams can play their third best defender on Roughy and he will dine out.

We have the worst forward line in the comp and the worst since inside 50 and conversion rates have been recorded.

TMac is iffy, Weideman has shown bupkis. It's been a horror show.

We must throw the kitchen sink and internal pipe fitting at Ben Brown to come to the  Melbourne Football Club. Pick 3 will get a rebuilding North interested.

We won't be having a shot at Rowell or Anderson as Gill will be giving them the PP necessary to ensure they have picks 1 and 2 in October.

Get radical and get Ben Brown or miss finals again in 2020.

The club will implode if we have another year like this one, good players will walk and Goodwin will be clearing out his desk by round 12.

Get real people.

Image result for ben brown

This thread should be the HEART BAND  SPECIAL REQUEST SHOW............THESE DREAMS!

Better still, actually come up with your own ideas to how to address the forward line woes heading into 2020.

Carn Chooka let’s hear it.

Then get on the Ben Brown train. Club head honchos read this forum. Let’s let them know we demand action. 5000 new members will sign on off the back of a bold move like this.

May - Lever - Oliver - TMac - Brown.

Thats a spine to build a premiership assault around. He’s worth the risk.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
