Another day,ย  and no news.

Doubt Brown is coming to Melbourne, would have been confirmed by now.

Ridiculous logic. He's not staying at North and he hasn't nominated any new club yet. Maybe he's going to nominate for Elon Musk one way trip to Mars?

Watch Geelong turn their attention to Brown now, now they can't get Cameron for free...ย  ?

This logic implies Brown is a FA, which of course,ย he's not. Iย think the Cats will getย Cameron regardless. They see a gun forward wanting to come to them, they get the deal done. Smith and Higgins will cost them nix. Why would a GF team with 3 lateย first rounders refuse to trade for a gun key forward that fills a need? Brown would be a compromise on what they could get. We don't have that luxury, unfortunatelyย

This is a strongย possibility with reports that GWS are matching the Cats offer for Cameron.ย

Thatโ€™s just so that GWS can get more in return for Cameronย and they have said all along that if they arenโ€™t happy with the compensation pick thatโ€™s what they would do. The geriatrics want cameron and will do a deal.ย
ย

Their members expect him to be at the geriatrics next season given its been made public. Donโ€™t stress.ย

Yeah maybe.

Or maybe there are other clubs besides Melbourne after him and in that case we will likely lose out.

My logic is flawless.

I understand the GWS side of the equation and it would have been negligent of them not to do this.

I'm not sure Geelong want to have to give up what they're going to need to now to satisfy GWS.

Brown will be a cheaper option for them in terms of what they have to give up.

I'm not saying it will play out that way but it very well could and is the most likely stumbling block for us getting Brown now.

No matter what happens with GWS matching i guarantee youย there is ZERO chance Geelong would back down from their commitment to Cameron.

Probably not but at least they don't get him without having to pay GWS compensation out of their own pocket.

This has been the biggest issue that many have with the Free Agency model that is benefitting clubs like Geelong.

Agree.

Asย much as i dislike the Cats you can't deny they are a well run organisation and will get the job done.ย

No need to worry this if from the article on the AFL site put up just now:

ย

โ€œCameron's agent Alex McDonald confirmed onย Trade Radioย this week that his client had no intentions of returning to the Giants and was set on a future with Geelongโ€.ย
ย

Can u imagine the supporters backlash if he doesnโ€™t get there. It would be more feral than usual.ย

Agree but the formula would have given them a mid level first rounder I assume.

If trading with Geelong they must want a player as well

By your logic, he's not going anywhere because he hasn't announced it yet.

Pretty big offer by the cats and now matched by gws for a 24 goal forward. I don't think gws really want him at his asking price but the cats have committed to him and gws have called their bluff. Awesomeย

Wow, may need some popcorn for this one, ladies & Gents?

The Isaac Smith scenario has got into your head.

If we are going to trade out Pruess and the 2 Macs we will need to bring in a tall. Brown may as well be it.ย  He is good on the lead Our forward line is like a dogs breakfast no one except the opposition backs seem to know where ours mids are going to kick it.

Geelong have 3 first round picks don't they? Probably can work a trade for a player with one to a 3rd club.

If we trade out TMac &ย  then BBrown gets snaffled by the Geelong $ย

We are stuffed

There is literally no chance Cameron isn't at Geelong next year.ย

It's zero.

Why would Brown want to go to a club who views him as their second option when there are other clubs that view him as their first?

In his very limited exposure under Goodwin this year, I saw Baker playing an expanding game and thoughtful form benchmarks that cast aside the 'ginger ninja' cacophony, replacing it with a concept of 'predator' for the ball, for space and for the opportunity to run with that ball to good effect. When our team realises this attribute, he's going to be a target in space, early and rampant. Don't ya reckon?ย ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
