With the only 4 left fit & avaliable in the leadership group who captains the next few weeks ?

I say Tmac

Bernie.

We wouldn't want to scar any player under 29 with a week or 2 of fill in captaincy.

Good poll.

Was tossing up between T Mac and Lewis before deciding that Bernie would bring me the most happiness.

We have reached a critical time of the season, with a seriously depleted side.We need Leadership and Experience. We need someone who can rev the team up.I vote for Jordan Lewis, with apologies to Bernie.I would really love Max to be captain, but he needs to concentrate on his ruck work.At the moment.

I vote maxy. It's a good banter point and little more. Plantar fasciitis can disappear quickly for those with the heart to do what must be done. I expect to see Viney back very soon.

Edit: if it does turn out to be major delay for viney though, tmac and Gawn temp game day co captains would be an interesting model. Whoever is captain is only so for 4 quarters a week. Lewis is a definite no for mine. Vince wouldn't bother me.

Who IS Vice Captain?

They did not appoint a vice-captains as we have co-captains never imagining we would lose both. Have to look to the leadership group but in this situation, they only need to nominate someone to toss the coin as the entire leadership group needs to stand up and LEAD. To cover injuries everybody needs to lift a bit

Im inclined under the circumstances to annoint the pied piper himself..Mr Gawn.

T. McDonald deserves it.

Perfect opportunity to bring Trengove back into the team, ay?

Clayton Oliver. Why not, we've had young captains in the past.

:lol::blink:

Yeah the careers of Trengove & grimes worked out wonderfully!

His in his second year of development way too young!

Need  a steady head with experience

Although he has t been in great form I went for Bernie. He's been around the club for quite a while now, has the respect of his teammates and is an experienced head. I think in this situation we need experience as our captain. So it would be Vince or Lewis for me.

Maybe we do a bit of Grant Thomas as give each player a week as captain!

Like 127 Hours? I suppose if anyone would saw off their own foot to take the field it would be Jack Viney.

T Mac, easily.

He has played like a true leader lately.

Will say this for Tommy, the way he's been playing has reminded me for David Neitz.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
