Yet I still think we can win, we are no longer relying on players but instead place holders, doesn't matter your name just play your role.

Seems the players aren't the only ones with belief

Yes Josh.  You are right mate.

If Salem is out,I would like to see White given a go as he still has something to prove.

Salem out for a month according to SEN

Watts for Salem

If Garlett doesn't get up, then you'd think Kent, JK or Kennedy come in.

Whats with the surge in soft tissue injuries ?

garlett Watts Jones Salem ect

Wow.  We have been killed by injury this season Amazing we are 8-5.

If Salem is confirmed out I'd love to see Wagner get back in.

Was a bit rusty early in the season getting back to full fitness, but I rate him highly. Generally composed, plays small and tall, and is a ferocious competitor.

On the hamstring issue, broadly there are only two reasons for hamstring pain and tightness. Firstly referral from the low back, which has no time frame on recovery. Could be a day, could be ongoing and frustrating. The other is a tear, of which the severity spectrum is broad, from small and undetectable on MRI or US scan (? Jack Watts), to big rips or avulsions (Max Gawn). For ANY hamstring tear, as minor as they are, it is a mandatory 3 weeks, no exceptions. The reason for this is that statistically the risk of a worse re-tear under 3 weeks is unacceptably high. Hopefully Jack Watts, Salem's and Jeffy's are back related, otherwise they'll follow this management, sadly. If Jack Viney has injured his Acromioclavicular (AC) joint and it's structurally stable (which it must be, as he came back on after a jab), playing relates to being able to play with any pain. Jack won't miss, I'd say.

On the fox broadcast it was mentioned that Garlett was having his back and hamstring worked on for what it's worth

6 day breaks and a ballistic game style will take their toll.

FWIW the ground was wet and apparently poorly drained last week as well, resulting in a couple hammys as well (Scott Selwood recovered to play this week, cockatoo out for longer). If we've had a couple as well the AFL should be investigating whether further action should have been taken. Probably a null factor given it was apparently weather dependent.

on topic: I hope watts is back to straighten us up. Long kicks to bugg as a marking target one on one seemed like it could have been our undoing. Salem hurts, but is imo our best covered position right now. I would have:

out:Salem, harmes

in: Wagner, watts

if hannan or Jeffy don't come up harmes stays. Just the poor sod as someone put it earlier. If Viney needs a week, jkh to be played in his best position of midfielder. Has shown at vfl this is his role. Never has he been a small crumbing forward, even if he is sized like one.

There is no way harmes gets dropped

Worst case scenario with the outs

Out - Garlett, Hannan, Salem (all injured)

In - Watts, Wagner, Kent

Thats pretty good changes for team balance.  If we lose Garlett we absolutely need a small forward to come in, so Kent gets his shot.

I'd have these changes if they are out injured.

Out: Salem, Hannan and Garlett if they don't pull up

In: Wagner, Watts and Kent/Jkh

Let's hope we can keep this ball rolling.

If we win next week we can jump into third spot on the ladder.

GWS play the Cats at home, and port play Richmond. Any way it falls it will loosen up the top four.

Now for us to get up and grab another HUGE win.

Kent will not get back in until he shows he can tackle and pressure in the vfl. Jkh and Kennedy are well ahead of him atm

Pretty much what I'd go with and to be honest given the short break and the travel anyone coming back with niggles with hammy's, calves etc should be definitely given a week. Jeffy is important to our year so I'd absolutely give him a week.

Questions for Jeffy's replacement is do we go with Kent or JKH. Kent is more damaging in the forward line whereas JKH seems to have worked really hard for quite a few weeks to be involved in the game. I think we've got to reward JKH's hard work and consistency, Kent has only done the pressure acts this week, if he backs it up then a recall could loom.

I'd have Kent before JKH. He can kick goals but yes lacks the pressure side of the game. This would only be if Garlett doesn't come up.

Jkh over Kent for me unless Kent had a heap of tackles in the Vfl I'm not interested in him being in the side

If JKH comes in he needs to be played as a high half forward rotating into the midfield. Similar to the role Hannan has been playing.

He is not a small forward but an accumulator with a bit of dash.

JKH is a very good VFL player and a very average AFL Player, Im Tipping Mitch White to come in for Salem!

JKH should only come in if he is playing  as a mid. He is simply not a forward.

3 Of those in a row is salt in the wounds.

I think both players had a high tackle count yesterday....

Kent looked like the Kent of old....lethal left foot and ran into space and created the loose man..
