Richmond are no better than Melbourne.   We beat them round 6 if we don't lose our ruck and another player before half time.

How would Richmond have gone without a number one ruck and Jack Riewoldt for 75% of the season ?  How do they go with Elton rucking and no key forward ?

And what, they were one win ahead of us at round 10 with a worse percentage ?

They've won less quarters than us for the year.  I don't get the fawning over them.

Agree, they have gone better than I expected but luck has been on their side with an injury free list and game day injuries to opponents, notably us helping to get them over the line.

Also agree with your earlier points on GWS...

I think we have had the biggest problem with injuries this year.

Whilst the pure numbers don't rack up like the GWS list we have 2 of our most critical players (Hogan, Gawn) missing from action.

No other team comes close.

Last year it was Freo who had 2 of their most critical players missing, Sandi & Fyfe and see where they finished up.

Even the Doggies last year, I'm not sure they had 2 critical players out at any stage but stand to be corrected on that one.

None of the GWS players are in their critical player list but if you take out 2 of Mummy, Davis or Cameron (maybe Kelly) then you start to get a problem.

I don't think we or Goodwin have been given enough credit for this years performances, not only are we still winning games but despite what some here and the outside football world may think we have been very consistent.

We're one of the few if any side yet to be smashed by any opposition this year and we've been in every game we've played. Our % with our win loss reveals this to be true.

where did i ever give the impression i would do so?

lewis is a very good player but he really let himself and the team down with his actions.

The MRP was the one who imposed the sentence....total rubbish considering what other players have gotten away with. Glad we play with a bit of grunt these days..

I find myself going for Richmond, such is my dislike of Norf. That said, I wouldn't be against Richmond losing again after the final siren.

Agreed. Always great to see one of the whinge twins lose. Is that poonce/soufflé James Brayshaw still the President?

Agreed.

Gawn and Hogan are our two most important players structurally.

How would Richmond have faired missing Riewoldt and Rance for the bulk of their season ?

On to present matters it would be good for us if freo lose today but I hate collingwood that much that I would still like to see them lose. Sandilands out is a problem for freo.

I want Collingwood to lose, personally I rate how Buckley presents to the media and the public persona, but geez I want Eddie to lose... I think Buckley would be a great assistant coach a la Voss... and the enmeshment of the relationship with Edward has held him in good stead, so come on Freo.

I have vested interests here...have  a handful of wagers that we finish higher than the Pies ( friends..family  )..   My wine cellar will appreciate a Pie loss today...go Dockers..lol

A Collingwood win today would be worth lots of money to the MFC in the form of attendees on QB but my heart says I would like them to lose today.

They will be even on points with us, next weeks game will be massive loser to find finals hard, almost a mini elimination final if we are a serious football club I expect us to be up for the challenge

This is why I want the Pies to win today, as it's totally in our control with 2 games against them. Freo on the other hand need to hurry up and get out of the way.

A win for the Pies is better for us....  as we need Freo to drop out of the eight.

However its all a moot point if we lose on QB.

Unfortunately all water under the bridge, but the two decisions that day just showed how clueless and inconsistent are the MRP.

Wells is injured.......groin by the looks of it.

That was only a matter of time at least it's not a calf, worst decision they have made getting him in on 3 year deal

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
