Or negotiate 8 and 13 with Adelaide and try and keep 13?

Possibly - I think 6 though is a lot more valuable, but would trust the FD regardless

If KK comes good im really happy with this deal.

Pick 6 for a (soon to be) 27 year old who has never played 20 games in a season. Heaven help us. How on earth does May have greater value than Lobb?

Official: Steven May and Kade Kolodjashnij for Pick 6.

By my math we won these deals by a long way. We got 400 for Hogan, and May and KK only 48.

Winning!

What did we get for a forward never played more than 17 games in a season with a dodgy foot?

I really hope no players from pick 6 until 23 in the draft don't turn out to be star midfielders.

And if they do? We needed defenders. I want to win a flag next year not in 5 years when a 2019 draftee peaks.

This is a very good deal for us. As always you win some you lose some.

Because we would have picked the one that does turn out to be star ? Not sure I understand this thinking ?

This is the part is part I don't agree with.

I'll say it again:

We are closer to a flag in 2019 with May in our team than Hogan.

Add KK, Preuss, Toby Bedford and things are positive.

Who's likely at pick 23?

Just spoke with a colleague who use to work the Suns FD and she rates May and KK very highly and both will take there games to another level with us. She believes we won the trade.

  • Demonland changed the title to WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB STEVEN MAY

so we now have 2 second rounders, 2 thirds & 2 early fourths?

Welcome to the MFC SM

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
