GAME DAY - Round 3, 2017

So umps not paying any frees against Geelong for dropping it?

Edited by Ethan Tremblay

Our ball use going inside 50 has been disgusting. Should be ahead instead of 3 goals down.

This umpiring is a disgrace.

Any chance the umps will call holding the ball?

Against us or for us?

Should have had 2 shots straight in front for holding the ball, what a joke

Hogan getting himself suspended is gonna cost us this game. Our forward line is a steaming pile of turd.

Pathetic umpiring.

There were at least two holding the ball decisions in there.

Missing Hogan badly got no target across half forward

We're just bombing long in top of tall Geelong defenders against small Melbourne forwards. Just dumb football.

Preferably for us, but honestly I just want them to not change the rules every bloody week.

We have a right to be absolutely FILTHY about the way the holding the ball rule was adjudicated that quarter.

Umps wearing blue and white hoops. Cheats.

Geelong talls killing us. Blixavs, Hawkins, etc. Good goal by Bull but turned it over twice going forward.

Tyson forgettable qtr

There's no way we can win this. The umpiring is an absolute disgrace. Anthony Hudson on the FOX commentary team is just as bad as Dwayne Russell.

We applied fantastic pressure in the forward. Not sure what ya'all watching.  Haven't been rewarded. If we start running two ways and don't allow them a direct entry to Hawkins one on one, we'll win. They won't get away with that forever. We must keep going to the well. That was a better quarter than Q1 vs Saints.

Pedo.

No target up forward.  we turned it around on the last 10 minutes, didn't convert possession into score.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
