Do you like him.?

What is your opinion, do you think we should try and get him?

Do you think he would be in our best 22?

Do you think we could let Garland go if we got Lever?

Do you think he would wear number 6 if he came to us?

Lever has met with both Melbourne and Collingwood.

One meeting went very well. The other didn't.

Collingwood must have jokingly assigned him a lousy animal nickname..

You'd think you wouldn't have to compare the two clubs for long to realise which is the better ship to jump on haha

Personally i liked my defenders to spoil the ball at least 36.2 metres. Kill that ball. Let it come back from the grave. Then kill it again. Now that's insane.

My mail is that this is as close to a done deal as is possible at this point on the calendar.

Good news!

Any idea what the trade might be?

Nope.   Just that he will likely nominate us as pref destination  Expect we will get it done from there

Garland to the Pies

Pendlebury to the Crows

Lever to Melbourne.

Dunn deal.

I wonder if we would even have this thread, if our idiot recruiting manager Prendergast, had taken Talia as everybody expected, instead of Jordan Gysberts, in a mind boggling, stupid pick, of Cook and Toumpas proportions. ( Yes I know he didn't pick Toumpas ).

Oh and BTW, I am positive if he had, we could  guarantee that we would have played finals this year, as he would have stopped at least two goals, that we allowed this season, if not have won us a close game outright.

Thanks Barry, you butchered this club.

But we wouldn't have been as bad as we were and would have been middle of the road quicker, hence missing out on Trac and Clarrie.

I have a view Red that everything in life happens for a reason. Sometimes it takes a long time to see the silver lining/positive

Eg:2001 Hawks were a decent side if yhey take Judd who was an instant impact they don't bottom out in 02/03 and commence the full 04 rebuild. Meaning no Roughy Franklin and Lewis

Wow, very specific scapegoating/crystal balling there - impressive!

they were SUCH horrible years. Ive often wondered if Prendergast really was the magnitude of the stupid F@ck he looks like or he had some other stupd F@ck telling him to pick a certain type of player ie someone higher up and more stupid absolutely misread the way the game was going. in other words did he plot to kill the club alone or was there a group of them? Anyway...no point dwelling on the past. We're sooo close to living in happy times,

So he's not coming to us then?

Collingwood supporters seem to be saying that quite a lot, I hadn't taken much notice because they're deluded

Funny how we all assume it must be our meeting that went well, because Collingwood.

So Pennant are you saying that if we win a flag Prendergast will indeed be the architect of our success because without him we wouldn't have accumulated the talent we now have? That will conflict poor old Red!

And on another note, those with supposed inside information on Lever beware if you are wrong.  I will personally hunt you down and punish you appropriately for your sins (calling BBO).  Alternatively if you are right you are welcome to drop by Chateau Vogon and collect an appropriate bottle of red for your troubles. Vogon red, unlike our poetry, is quite good.

Note:  This offer is now closed to any "Jonny come latelies"

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
