Wish we drafted him back in the day, that draft will go down as a super draft with him, Truck, Gus, Heeney and going to fruition.

Cant remember the draft order, but who would you not have drafted in his stead?

Didn't we have lever penciled in with the pick from Richmond for trengove before the doctor stuffed us, I know Roos really rated him

Why bother chasing a (soon to be) All Australian defender when we already have one.

Put Tom McDonald back to the backline and instead of going after Lever go and get Patton/Lobb.

Jetta OMac Frost

Hibberd TMac Hunt

Brayshaw Jones Vince

Petracca Hogan Melksham

Garlett Patton/Lobb Watts

Gawn Oliver Viney

Lewis Hannan Salem Tyson

Looks ok to me...

We have a good trade history with GWS, only think is it won't come cheap. Have to be realistic can't offer Pederson for either of them.

Weideman and a late first round pick?

Weed will be a dynamite forward in years 2 come bad trade. The computer says no.

Yep, kid is a footballer. Skinny and sorta uncoordinated now, but give him 2 years and he will be kicking more goals than Jesse.

Clearly we need Lever.

Frost and O-Mac in tandem are as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.

Yes, he would be more than handy. Understatement...

I can't see Frost being in the future plans apart from being a depth player or maybe trade value.

O-Mac does have some upside though.

Not sure why Adelaide would be interest in either Watts or the Weid noting they already have Walker, JJ, Lynch and McGovern (maybe short term) loitering around in there forward line and Otten who swings around there.

There backline would need more support which increases the value on Oscar/Frost but I still think there priorities would be for high quality mids.

I still think a local like an ANB might be used along with a first round pick in exchange for Lever and some pick in change. You have to spend big to get the talent and personally I think the kids going to be a star.

Would be massive for us to get this done

Can see that happening. I like it.

Maybe Carlton can be lured by more ex-GWS players in any of Tyson, Bugg or Frost + a pick.

Carlton getting ripped off.

Yep, would be an awfully raw deal. Maybe trade up somehow and get a higher pick to send along with *Insert fringe player* and they may listen.

If Gibbs goes to Crows at 29 before next season, I wonder what his value is.

What worries me about that deal, is that Carlton will go for Lever themselves.

I am told they are into Kelly up to their eyeballs.

What about JKH to carlton? They wanted him a couple years ago, plus a pick.

Gibbs to Adelaide, Lever to Melbourne, our first rounder this year and a second rounder next year to the Blues.  They won't be interested in any of our players, and we won't offer the ones they will have interest in.  Maybe the Crows chuck in a second rounder of some sort as well to go to the Blues.  Carlton wanted two first rounders last year, so one first rounder and two seconds might get the job done.

You value Gibbs highly.

Be interesting to see how much currency Gibbs and Gaz have at their respective ages.

How much did Mitchell and Lewis fetch

Caro just said on FC that he DID meet with Melbourne. Her mail is normally good, her opinions not so.

Her mail is better than anyones.  He definitely met with us.

I have faith our pitch to him would of been well done. Can only hope he does choose to come to us. As for what picks and or who I'm sure the club have pretty much already figured out the options and also have solid faith it will be worth it.

If he doesn't come, at least it's a good sign players want to meet with us and are linked with us. Especially the most sought after.
Lever would be the biggest coup the club has had in my time anyway.

OMac is a good player. It's only your stubbornness that prevents you from seeing it now.

Agree with you on Frost.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
