Speaking on SEN Cameron Mooney has revealed that he believes new Demon midfielder Jordan Lewis  will have the most significant impact of the new recruits on their new clubs this year. 

Mooney says that "while the former Hawk is not at his peak anymore, his effect on the Demons midfield will be huge."

On what I've seen from him at pre season training (admittedly limited) and heard about him from others, I'm inclined to concur. 

Lewis is the safe, and sensible, option here.  His contribution will be immense over the next few years.

I'd like to think Hibberd will also prove to be a shrewd acquisition, and while it may take a little time for him to settle, I think his experience, clean disposal and work ethic will shine through across half back as the season progresses.

I'd like to see Milkshake prove a few Druggie supporters wrong and have a good year. With a solid preseason he could become a valuable contributor each week. I like a bit of an underdog who gives his all.

Prestia should be a good pick up for Richmond, although offset by the loss of Deledio.

Jake Carlisle will offer the Saints a lot.

Not new recruits I know, but bring Bennell and Fyfe back into Freos side could be a bigger impact than any recruits.

Agree with this. Melksham is seriously underrated by many here.

Lewis has been the sweetest trade I can remember. An absolute steal.

And that's in the context of some super good trades in recent times in the form of Vince, Hibberd and Garlett.

Love that Lewis is teaching the players how to kick better (and while we knew we needed it, its still a bit startling to hear it from a player). 

Lewis seems a humble guy with no airs and graces which (could have come from his 4 premiership medals).  McDonald says: "He picks his places when he wants to talk, he doesn't want to be overbearing and feel like he's pushing himself on to other guys..."

Can't wait to see him as an on-field general (along with Jones) marshalling the troops.  I can see Lewis being the one who looks for potential momentum changes, has a quick word to Jonesy and nipping them in the bud - the lack of which cost us a few games last year.  I can also see him keeping the players to structures and playing to team rules; again something we fell down on last year.  Lewis and Jones will make a fine pair of generals, along with their apostles, Maxy and Viney

For years we have yearned for a playing coach and to think that Lewis literally just fell into our lap! 

Not just fell... He 'headhunted' us. Quite bizarre really.

I would be...

Jones is the Captain, Lewis is a natural leader around the club with no reason to give him a title.

I forget where I read it, but Goodwin flagged co-captaincy as a potential for 2017, so let's wait and see.

What a way to really make Jordan Jewis, co-captain of the greatest club in the world. Help lead us to greatness again. The next 3 years will show what he is made of and remind a bucketload of Hawks fans how good this guy is as a player.

I'm a little more circumspect on Lewis as I want to see if the trade has freshened him up and if he can adapt to the new role as well as the mental challenges of leaving an experienced team for a young one. It's going to be difficult to measure his effect on other players, but I'm hoping he gets the balance of aggression and antisocial football right and can step up in big moments. It sounds like they'll either play him on the wing or in a versatile role as well, both of which he'll probably have to adapt to.

Purely on field if he gets back to his best Hibberd can probably offer as much if not more than Lewis. It's just going to be a question of if he can get and stay fit.

I'm a little disappointed Hannan hasn't got in to full training yet, making it hard to see how advanced he is. I think there's a spot in the side for a medium forward who has the versatility to play close to goal, up the ground and even rotate on to a wing. Maybe he gets his feet at Casey for a while and makes an impact in the back end of the season.
