GAMEDAY - Round 22

If we win today I'll be asking my sister (a Cats member) for her seat at Kardinia Park next week.

Birthday today  so heading to the G    not nervous   if we play like last 2 weeks we win   if we don't we may lose

Happy 92nd birthday mate!

Weather radar looks like there will be some showers during the game but it should mostly be rain free. Does mean the ball will be wet though.

Carlton's best shot is to turn the game into a low-skill close in slog. Like other teams have done to us, and beaten us doing so.

We need to blow them off the park early to deny them any sniff.

The current rain state won't affect the conditions much. The G soaks up rain remarkably well

The sun is trying the break through here at the G. Lots of Dee supporters here. Go Dees❤️?

Interesting what tactics are used by Carlton.

We have been very vulnerable to teams that clog up our forward line and deny us use of the corridor (witness the game against Gold Coast)

Here with my 8 year old cousin. His first game. He is apparently a Hawthorn supporter.... Not after today he's not!

Go Dees!!!

lets go dees its a must today

4th elimination final in a row. Cmon Dees, focus on the game at hand!

Late changes for Carlton, Silvagni and Kerridge out for Everitt and Graham.

can't believe the sea of res and blue supporters here so far.

You'd think a Melbourne based Dees member needs a pretty good reason to miss this one.

Make sure you remind him about their last three weeks.

Lets hope that our players do, by actions not words

It's great. We are playing real footy again.

People want to watch it

50,000 Members next year must be the aim

Come on boys. Let's aim the finals. Brad Scott said that it is a loser's attitude to fall into the eighth. Show them that they are losers. Go Dees

I'm so anxious I feel sick. Didn't feel this way before the Port game.

What you want North to fall into the Eight.

Good god the pre game hover board is such vomit material

That noisy polluting hovercraft thing that Carlton have rolled out on the G is pretty lame.

Actually it's the Beatles song, strong against violence but going to hit next person who sings it

Very few bars open at the ground compared to a Melbourne home game. Calton members must be tea drinkers...

shirt lifters the lot of them (pc not that theres anything wrong with that)

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
