You can't look at it like that.  What if pick 30 had a better strike rate? Would you then conclude that you'd prefer to have pick 30 than pick 29?

Well Pick 36 this year was held by a club that was knocked out in a semi, so I hardly think we're going to win the flag.  You obviously don't think any free agents will move next year if you think Pick 36 will stay with the premiers.

I didn't say it would stay with the premiers, but that's a pretty big gamble to say we have to at least make a semi for the trade to simply be equal worth.

Also, who even knows if FA compensation will exist next year? Will there be priority picks for anyone next year? Just more gambles. I prefer to play it safe than gamble away our future.

Just happy to get it done. The upgrade softens it slightly given our ability to find players around that pick.

Dodoro was never going to budge. I wouldn't have put it past him to keep Hibberd on for next season if we didn't play ball.

Hopefully that's the last we have to deal with them for a while.

Hibberd vs another skinny kid from the draft? We're one of the youngest teams in the comp. This is a great result.

I just did. I was responding to a comment that pick 29 has a 50/50 strike rate. I say its worse than that. If you want to have a discussion about whether you would prefer Michael Hibberd OR have pick 29 and be able to choose from a pool of 500 to find someone better good luck.  I'll leave you to it.

It was about whether Hibberd is worth pick 29 which I happen to think he is. He is exactly of the age, hardness, experience etc that we need.
