POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 11

One f a r k i n g point in the last quarter u have to be f a r k i n g kidding me.

Not good enough Melb.

Such a better effort than last week.

Tyson, Jones and Vince were enormous.  Gawn was good in the ruck and I felt like our backline played pretty well under the circumstances.

Our small forwards, however, were poor again.  Kent was better but I felt like Harmes had minimal impact and Garlett was woeful.

Trengove and Dawes will also be better for the run, and both make us a better side.

8 day break until we get to beat the Pies for the second time this year.

Chris Dawes cannot play again. His inability to take marks directly resulted in 4 goals that I counted. Absolute disgrace.

[censored] I hate that football club.

Umpires pathetic once again.

Is there actually a "kicking in danger" rule cause it sure as shitz didn't look like it.

Dawks did it all day and not once were called for it.

PATHETIC

Disappointed but if we track our recent performances against Hawthorn the trend is upward

Not good enough Demons

1point in the last quarter means you are not prepared to go all the way

Fcuk 13 in a row now...

So..umpires don't pay a single in danger the entire game when there is clearely times when a players head could be kicked in, yet they report Vince and pay 50m penalty for an open hand slap that didn't connect?

[censored] off.

I blame the rain and Chris Dawes.....oh and no Viney...

Much as I loathe the expression, it was a 'noble loss' if ever there was one.

Not quite enough polish, but never without endeavour.

Missed Viney badly in these conditions.

Anyone who bags Melb has got to be kidding....this will be the last year they do this to us....never gave up ....ran out of legs ....where was the "kicking in danger" rule....out of every game I've watched ...,I am super excited by the future....double the experience of games ...go Dees

I thought he played a good match.

Great to have another forward line option. Competes hard. We're a better team with him in.

How did Trenners go?

Acquitted himself well and had a strong second half.

Love to know goals from turnovers...

Dawes didn't cost us the game, but pedo marks a few and kicks the odd goal. Pedo must come in next week.

Back line looked small...

Was really poor, the scoreboard might mask it but to many players that can't do the basics.

Jones, Vince and Tyson well done.

Tall defenders - terrible as usual, every time they do something good they undo their good work.

TMac and Garlett, that was disgraceful.

3 votes B Vince.

His report will be thrown out.

Played dumb football, they thought it was dry half the day.

Didn't do the simple things like kick it off the ground, tap it on, we all flew so many times leaving Hawks players to crumb it easily.

At least it wasn't the 100pt loses from a few years back....and yeah.....bring on the filth!!!!!!

At least our young blokes will remember this and will show Hawthorn no mercy in the years to follow.

His marking (not) was predictable but almost excusable in these conditions.

Overall he had a good game.

And a positive - what a great idea to play Frost in defence.  I wonder why nobody thought of that before.  Brilliant one out of the hat by Roos

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
