Does anyone else disagree with the NT game?

I know there are financial incentives to play here but there are rewards to winning and laying finals as well.

Every time we look like kicking a goal that might get us firing up, someone misses. I reckon if we'd put a few of those through it might have been enough to get us going.

New half up soon though and a chance to start again. I'm not throwing in the towel just yet.

Young side. Not surprising. Kent and omac need shrink for the way they are playing.

Gotta laugh at the ignorant posters blaming our backline. They are smashing us in the middle. Given the time the balls been in our backline, we are lucky they have only kicked 7 goals.

Poor delivery into forward line again this week and far too many tackles missed.

Tackling like basketballers. They need some lessons in tackling from Melbourne Storm. Agree this is like Essendon and St kilda games. Nobody preventing the coast to coast movement of the ball out of our forward line down the boundary to their goal.

Where's the individual accountability with a zone defence where players guard space? A player can always say "I wasn't on that one guy so that mark and goal wasn't my responsibility". Sure it's not as simple as that, but some of these backline guys need a massive injection of ownership and individual accountability when an opponent is left unattended by 30m, when they are always second to the ball or when 3 go up to spoil the mark leaving 3 opponents wondering around scooping up the ball.

Angry.

I think we're very much still in this game, we just need to use the ball better, we're making enough of the play we're just making stupid mistakes and missing shots we should kick.

If we start this quarter off well we can close this gap fairly quickly and get a roll on.

Where is Vince playing? Can't remember seeing him around the ball much.

Tyson looks like he has had 5 weeks off.

Their mids are killing ours. Absolutely killing ours.

Once again the game is in trouble and I can see none of our leaders actually trying to inspire their teammates.

We are just not on today. Look flat. As simple as that.

Roos said he'll make 4 changes. He made 2. Why?! It makes no sense that we don't keep refreshing the team when we are so young and tire quickly off a 6 day break.

We can't be a serious club until we stop selling home games, but that is another issue.

Thanks Abe I get tired of trying to convince myself

Too many passengers today, thumped around the clearances, midfield giving nothing....small forwards non existent.

Kents game has been a disgrace - lazy turnovers

Add Neal Bullen, Newton , and Harmes has been drinking his own bathwater. Regardless of result and I am predicting a big loss a huge raft of changes needed next week far too many far too easily pleased!!

Winning the hit outs easily yet clearances are being halved. If we win the clearances I think we'll win the game. So far it's not happening just like the Essendon & Saints game. We have to come up with a way to take advantage of Gawns tap work. Viney & Tyson have both been quiet. Maybe time for Vince to go into the square.

Every player who has recently signed a contract extension is playing like [censored].

I'm sick of losing to Port. They are a very, very average side and we make them look first class.

Really missing Pederson and Oliver today.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
