Triple MMM yesterday on Howe

Featured Replies

Did anybody else hear the commentary on MMM yesterday after the Collingwood game?

Apparently, sending Jeremy Howe down back was a 'masterstroke by Buckley'. Mark Howard then said 'looks like they might have found a new position for him'.

Idiots.

At least it shows how much attention the footy world has paid to us recently. He's been playing down back for years, ever since we worked out he was a muppet as a forward!

Lol.

He dealt with little to no pressure all day back there and Geelong's ball use going forward was awful for the majority of the day so he was constantly picking up free ball.

Wait until they come up against the Dogs next week and let's see how he handles it.

The guy crumbles under pressure.

Apparently his disposal coming out of the backline is made with pinpoint precision.

Wonder how long it will be before they realise that only happens in 1 out of every 10 games, and the rest his disposal is below average for accuracy.

Seeing him thread goals from the boundary last year made me laugh, as I knew it was pushing his value up despite being a rarety.

Honestly though, the Pies are seeing exactly what we saw at the MFC.  He'll go through a really lean stretch as a forward, go back to defence, look really strong and settled in the back line, go through a really lean patch, get moved forward, look strong and settled for a while, cycle restarts.  I reckon Buckley hopelessly misjudged him, thinking he was a much better player than he is.  Laughing all the way to the bank with Kennedy IMO.

Hope he plays back there against us and he's made to play on Dean Kent.

I still can't believe they traded or Aish.

Has me salivating.

Howe good would Kent be :roos:

To be fair I watched the game yesterday and Howe was outstanding.

Given we secured Kennedy in that trade and a pick which helped us move up the draft to get Oliver, I have no complaints about Jeremy's infatuation with the Pies. If he genuinely went there so he could play in the forward line, then LOL.

Geelong were outstandingly hopeless yesterday, they must have backed themselves.Second to the contest non existent tackling and no favours from umps which i hardly noticed.

Much small mindedness and unnecessary comments about an ex/player. It is a professional game and players will make decisions that they think are in their best interests. Players come and go. That is the game.

Ernie much of the ribbing is towards Collingwood.  That always seems fair

Didn't Jeremy Howe say when he was traded that he was given a specific role playing up forward & that is why he left & he was whinging about playing in the backline

He will have his good weeks, just like he did with us. But his pies career is just a continuation of his frustrating front running and inconsistency with us.

Certainly not the intention of the OP. Scorn clearly aimed at MMM.

Hey ..I do think for all the bullshlt Howe uttered he's back...as a back that that's  hilarious.

It's just echoed  by the MMMankers !

Wasn't playing back the reason he wanted to explore his options in the first place?

Yep. Always played better down back. Seemed to get upset that it meant occasionally having to spoil, man up, punch from behind and tackle - and all too commonly watch the ball sail over his head. But it was by far his best position. Took Buckley only a few games to work out exactly that.

I'd have preferred to keep him over Melksham as a half back, and I think if he got his head around the fact he's best suited as a back he could find consistency and be very good down there.

But hey, the cocahes can only suggest it so much, and if a player spits the dummy for a trade then so be it.

seriously brainless twits on MMM, any station that has Billy Brainless as a employee has got to be run by tools

Fulfilling his childhood dream of playing in the NFL for his native Fiji in the Olympics as a permanent forward for the Pies.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
