I do and don't get it. His form before concussion was nothing to write home about. He then misses and comes straight back into the side but into a role he has not played all year. That's not exactly setting him up for success.

Great that ANB will play but a fair bit that makes me uneasy as to what the final 22 may look like.

ANB looked so powerful physically in the recent photo as a Casey player. Has he filled out or was it just the photo? I thought he was just a skinny kid last year. He certainly deserves selection.

I remember going to this game last year, after the first quarter it was easily the worst game I have seen in the last 10 years

Well r7 was only 2 weeks ago. Maybe its just a safety precaution with him and just keeping him out for a week. I mean after Angus and his concussions and Heritier is still missing after his for a third week with concussion. So if he isnt playing for casey id say its pre caution.

Yes Im a bit nervous about this game. It would be nice if from the first bounce we just steam roll them and maintain it during the game. We should do a GC job on them.

I'm still confused. Why?

What is going on up there? I honestly have no idea.

The iron triangle of coach, lethal and captain. If your on the outer there's no way back. Case in point, Jed Adcock.

I don't think Salem's been in the best form this year but we've kept players in on a lot less than what Salem has shown.

Two cases in point: Michie and Garland.

It sounds like ANB, OMac and Kent are all going to play which means one of Hunt or Harmes is going to be dropped. Whilst I'd have thought Hunt would go before Harmes, Harmes fits the bill better on a like-for-like basis, so I'm not entirely sure.

I'm guessing here (which, lets be honest, constitutes 99.7% of all Demonland posts) but I'd imagine that defensively if you don't follow the structure you'll be left out. Salem, who I imagine is everything Roos would like off Half Back in terms of skill, is left out yet Garland and Michie stay in. I think it's true for Dunn too. I have a suspicion he got dropped for playing too 'individually' within the zone.

I think decisions are being made about structures and game style first, so that we develop a team plan that works - and players that can fit within that.

I can't come up with another reason why Salem misses.

This game concerns me. The Lions match up really well against us. They've had good wins wgainst us recently. Also Merret is a thug who likes injuring his opponent. I can see him landing a few flying knees into Hogan's back.

I share your thoughts Ralph however I don't think Hogan would put up with it and from what I've seen this season from our team I'm sure they would react and stand up for each other and give as good as it gets.

The crowd cheered at the end, not because we won but because it was over.

A loss would be disastrous. For it to happen again after Essendon would look pretty bad.

It'll go one of a few ways:

1. We will smash them from the first bounce until the final siren.

2. We will smash them out of the gates and then play putrid for 3 quarters.

3. We'll play average for a half then smash them.

4. We lose and Demonland servers crash.

How the FK does Colin Garland keep his spot..

Unbelievable..

Especially since Dunn had an excellent game for Casey. I think this is another selection mistake.

Garlo for Dunn isn't the answer.  Col got dropped earlier in the year, Dunn came in and did nothing, then got dropped himself.  No reason to think the same won't happen again.  It's just deck chairs being swapped.

Might not be the answer, but it's a better result for us. To me Dunn has far more attributes than Garland.

Is it?  We might have said that last time, yet Dunn played a few games, did very little and got dropped.  I'm simply arguing that all these posters who pot Garland are asking him to be replaced with someone who did no better the last time he played either.

They're 18th in the competition for contested possessions.  Every game is won in the middle, Viney - 3 Votes

I don't want to get ahead of myself like we all did in the Essendon game, but they have been one of the worst contested ball teams in comp for the last few years, while it is one of our strengths this season. IF we crack in as normal, we will win comfortably.

I'd be spewing if I were Dunn. Offers far more than Garland, who is an extrovert and drops his head too often, to me he does not have a future at the club and suspect he is on his last AFL contract. He just doesn't fit in anymore. Dunn to me seems more natural and at least can go forward if things get nasty. Can also ruck and is good at ground level for someone his size.

I'm not a massive fan of either player TBH but I doubt we will see too many blokes get dropped for 1 poor game anymore.

Garland was OK against GCS not great but definitely serviceable despite the odd brain fart. I'd prefer Grimes than either of these 2 though, seeing his consistent form week in week out at VFL level.

Well the way I see it is as follows, Dunn is a better kick, longer and more accurate, he is a better mark, is physically stronger, is less intimidated by opponents, is more effective up forward, is prepared to run and take the play on, is quicker  and is better on the big guys. Think that is a good start. He was our regular full back and was pretty good over the last few years.

To me Garland is a timid flanker being asked to play key position and it is not working.

That's great.  So why isn't he playing?

And just in case Steve or Curry or whoever fly in from the night, I'm not defending Garland, merely arguing that Dunn in for Garland makes no difference.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
