They went into free fall the moment Guy McKenna got the flick.  He might not have reached great heights in his time there, but he was slowly building towards it.  Thought it was a terrible time to move him on for a dinosaur like Eade.

And we still don't know what happened between Guy and the playing group. Clearly McKenna was sweeping severe cultural issues under the rug (Bailey), but turfing him out for a psychopath like Eade (Neeld) to unite the playing group has backfired horribly.

Sound familiar?

If they lose O'Meara, Prestia (2016) and Swallow (2017), they may as well fold. Ablett's practically finished with this persistent run of injuries; I can't see him getting his body right at his age and complete an entire pre-season.

They are treading water and you sense the sharks are circling. That Swallow sought out his brother's team's doctors for a better diagnosis on his knee says a lot about what Suns' players think of their club, IMHO.

I'd love to get Touk Miller to the MFC, he's OOC next year.

Yep, they're very likely to lose all three blokes. Their midfield will be absolutely decimated. Lynch up one end is a star, but they'll be years off unless they turn it around quick smart. It's not going to happen though.

And now Ablett's gone down with injury too. Looks like an ankle.

The difference between Neeld and Eade is the experience of the latter coach. But, the big problem for mine with Eade is, ultimately, he's never won the big prize. I think what he's done is probably the right move, but their injury list has killed them. It seems like the outer FD is the problem though.

1min & 5 seconds into the Tigers v Swans match and the umpires had paid 3 free kicks.

Way to go un-noticed!

I can't believe I am saying this, but I would rather watch the Pies game than the Tigers getting spanked. BT calling that game is only tolerable for short periods of time, if only to witness the carnage.

Speaking of which, it was nice to see Rance run into the brick wall that is Lance Franklin.

Think Lethal may have a point though. As far as Qld goes two into one won't go. Time we pi55ed Gold Coast off. For starters, no one up there really gives a shite about them.

Reckon the AFL would have been better off following the NRL model and base a team in Northern Queensland rather then the Gold Coast.

Could of spread them across the North also to try and get as much exposure as posdible. Use Cairns as the base, but just play 5 games there, 5 games in Townsville and maybe 1 in Mackay?

They're in big trouble the Suns.

Gee, Luke Darcy is an horrific commentator. Absolutely no idea.

He really is shocking. Makes hutchy's short lived stint back in 2001 look like the next Clinton Grybas.

10 minutes into the second quarter and Brisbane haven't scored. Not just goalless, scoreless. At home. Against Collingwood, who last week lost to Carlton.

Football in Queensland is falling apart.

If Brisbane don't make a match of it, then Leppitsch has to be gonski.

I can tell you things are hotting up in the Eurovision finals, I reckon we are in with a chance!

Swans do not play the G well at all. I know they won a Premiership a few years ago but they should be dominating Richmond and aren't.

Footy in qld just isnt doing very well right now.

Give it a year or 2 and both teams will be fine.

Fitzpatrick will make sure of it? Can't see it for both.

Geez the lions are copping a pasting. Drag there confidence even lower so they are flat next week.

The tigs are up by 5 points at 1/2 time and the fans are getting excited. We all know the swans will roll over them after 1/2 time and deflate them. By the way I just came home from work and that was around 8 and a tigs fan in a jumper and hat was on my train. Not sure if he was coming home from the game or not.

thoroughly enjoyed the second quarter of tigers-swans.

be interesting to see if richmond can keep this up.

they tightened the game right up.

if deledio truly is on the market...are we interested? he and ellis are the only players i'd vaguely be keen on cos of their pace.

oh, and probably rance and riewoldt.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
