Mate we are absolutely [censored]. Every tall forward has schooled us this year so what do we do? Drop our tall backman in Dunn and Frost for mini Michie and skinny stretch. Jesus Christ I am losing my [censored] over this decision.

Dunn and Frost are nonsensical omissions. We lose Salem's skill in the backline as well as Dunn's height, and Frost who can play back. Oliver obviously a good inclusion but Michie seems like an inclusion for the sake of it. Garland is more of a liability than Dunn.

If we get stitched up by their talls again, God help me.

So, no one has any faith in the team at all?  Anyone?  ANYONE?

Yep, I think after last week it seems we went with a side for the likely conditions and also adjusted our defence to their lack of height.

The Gold Coast, even in the early evening, can be quite muggy, so you need runners. Further to this, the Suns have added even more run to their side with Garlett, Saad and little guy MacPherson.

Had we gone in with a big side we would have been prone to being exploited by their counter. But now we have got a chance to match up with them across the ground.

Initially I wanted Hunt dropped, but there are so many more options on who he can play on this week - Martin, Garlett, Miller and Sexton.

The key for us is that we need to exploit the fact they have been decimated by injury to their bigs and Hoges and Watts must fire again.

The other key is that Gawny should be too tall for Currie, but that means Viney and Jones and Oliver have to limit the amount of times Gazza comes charging out with it.

The only other big match-up will be T-Mac's battle to counter Tom Lynch. Garland will cop two-metre Peter and whilst big Pete may get the odd mark, Col should have no problems with him most of the time and if not, Pedo can be sent back to help.

As to Neal-Bullen's non-selection, can someone tell me which of Viney, Jones, Vince or Tyson was going to be dropped for him. They decided to have one more mid because Vince will play down back and do the kick-in duties for Salem most of the time, but it was a choice - Oliver or ANB.

Had ANB played the last three weeks as a defender, then he might have got a game ahead of Michie.

Like others, I have no idea why we'd drop Dunn and Frost given Gold Coast have 2 x 200 cm tall forwards and we play a defensive zone which only gives those guys more of an advantage...

Dunn is taller than Garland and Frost is too.

How many times is Roos going to pull the 'in hindsight we probably made an error by selecting him' line? He has now done it with Lumumba by stating that they shouldn't have played him last week. WTF? Does he understand how unprofessional he sounds given this is a repeat offence and we're only six rounds into a season?

It only amplifies my concern about this week's selections.

Truly baffled.

The midfield will be where it's won obviously. But again, if we're out-marked and bodied simply because of a lack of height in defence, I'm going to have issues.

Stop going on about it. Dunn is close to hopeless at the moment, and would be taken to the cleaners, as he was last weekend.

We desperately need a key position backman.............still missing Frawley

Dunn had a shocker last week. Not surprised he was dropped. I expect Tommy to bounce back and hope he can do the job on lynch.

Ablett had the heat put on him by his teammates so I expect him to come out firing. Hope we can shut him down. But happy to see Oliver back.

Geez I hope we bounce back.

Dunn couldn't stay in the team, completely out of form and was atrocious last week.

Arguably Garland was out of form, was dropped, rediscovered his form at Casey and now deserved his spot in the team.

I just want Hunt to run in a straight line and ignore stupid calls from players that are behind him.....don't even effen stop!

Hope he's been practicing his running bounces this week..

It's a fair point - I wonder if they'll send Bugg to him to kick off the game?  A few hard, fair tackles to kick off the game on Ablett wouldn't go astray.

I can't understand why Dunn is a fringe player again. I mean he was pretty poor last week, but very good the week before. Dunn has given much better effort than Garland in the past couple of years. I'm sure we should've seen Neal-Bullen before Stretch and especially Michie. Also it seems really weird that Lumumba's now concussed but he played poorly enough to be dropped anyway

Melbourne by 56.

Baffling team selections.. Cannot believe we brought in a plodder in Garland who drops his head as soon as the 1st goal is kicked. What happened to picking players based on a solid form at Casey? They have a 199cm tall forward in Lynch and 202cm CHF in Peter Wright who like Daniher takes his marks out stretch. So what do we do? Bring in the 191cm 3rd tall defender.

If we are going to drop Dunn then why not bring in the future in Oscar McDonald who would have been the perfect test for Wright as both in their 2nd years of AFL (McDonald towled up Peter Wright big time in a TAC game in 2014) If not then at least put Frost down back FFS..We drafted specifically to replace Frawley yet we are trying to turn him into Buddy Frankling!

Why has James Harmes still in the side yet ANB misses out. Harmes has been poor the last couple of weeks at half forward. Was lazy last week and more interested in argueing with the umps instead of chasing his man. ANB not only can play up forward but he can go in the midfield and give Jones and Viney a chop out.

Another week where selections will bite us in the ass.

Cannot wait for Roosy to come and say we picked the wrong players for this week.

I think you'll find that as much as aspiring to play finals is for the club, an equal amount will be focused on getting games into the youngsters that will take the club forward.

Matt Jones, Dunn, Grimes and similar blokes just aren't in that frame - regardless of how well they've performed in the Magoo's or whether they just have an 'off week.'

I think we were very lucky to beat GWS and our other two wins against Tiges and Pies was against ordinary opposition.

Get games into the youngsters and reap the benefits next season.

It will need to be biggest turnaround seen at The AFL level this year.

Hopefully the reason Frost is out is to actually learn to play his role first - whether it be forward or back and just play it well prior to returning. Instead of just being reliant on his athletic attributes. Then he can come back and play on the 2 mete Peter types.

Dunn out - he's done (pun deliberate) stop gap at best for the kids or if we can nail a Hurley type. Garland for mine isn't up to it either - don't understand the 3 year deal he got last year, however he plays the mid size guys OK - driven myth about tall/short - he doesn't do either well - he takes the 3rd tall or mid size only.

We have blokes coming in in form with attributes of speed or hardness at the ball (stretch, mich, ollie) - happy playing shorter if it means they're generally better.

ANB is bloody stiff. Stretch and Michie over him? Not to mention leaving Hunt and Wagner in the team who contributed to our shocking defence last week?
