Hardwick has been able to dig the Tigers out of a hole several times over his tenure. I hope like hell we can make the hole a little deeper on Sunday night. As exciting as it would be, I don't think they'll go with Petracca yet. A week or two away, I reckon.

Dunn has been a welcome inclusion with his disposal out of the back half. he hits targets regularly and set up a few runs early that put the pies under the pump. he won't be going anywhere.

Dunn should never ever have been out of this team!

Wonder If Paul Roos is bold enough to pull a stroke selecting Petracca on extended bench along with Bernie Vince, Jeff Garlett possibly Jack Trengove, and Grimes to put the wind up Richmond and let the guessing games start.

I don't beleive Ninethmond will play Deledio, particularly if he has onlt recently started kicking full size footballs! Quad strains can be very very trouiblesome. If he were to do it again theres 8-10 weeks OUT!

If they play him then let Bernie Vince run of him and really put some pressure on!

Bugg to stand Dusty and drive him nuts

Reality suggests that Matt Jones and possibly one of Harmes or Jayden hunt to miss. Possible only likely inns for us Vince and Garlett!

Dees to win easily 5-7 goals Im thinking but I am again putting on my cautious "Caveat Emptor" Hopefully my misgivings are but a thing of the past!

Go Dees!

If we name Grimes on an extended bench they'll know we're full of it.

Petracca's debut hasn't been announced on the club's website, so I'd say he may be an emergency.

Vince and Garlett for Oliver and M. Jones. If Garlett doesn't come up, Petracca could be a surprise inclusion.

I doubt they'd name him and not play him.

He's such an exuberant young guy with tonnes of self confidence I suspect the club would want to keep any debut as low key as possible.

It's only the lack of a credible replacement that's keeping him in the team. He's been serviceable, but nothing more, and increasingly, his old fashioned, bullocking, man-on-man defending is being found out by modern football/ers. Will be interesting to see if he manages to keep his place for the rest of the season.

Not so sure....

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-03-24/clayton-oliver-to-debut-in-round-one

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-04-14/hunt-set-to-debut-against-pies

And given the hype around him and how hard PJ is pushing this game, you'd think they would at least announce it with some press if he was definitely going to play.

Found out? are you serious?

Dunn has done the job on Petrie and Cloke since he has been in. Proving that he still plays an important role in our structure.

His kicking is also a weapon. He manage to slice through Collingwoods zone a couple of times of the weekend and really set us up off half back.

i want IN: vince, garlett, petracca OUT: m jones, oliver, hunt

hunt unlucky, but i want this kid in, and vince can replace hunt's role as a half-back...with the added advantage of being that he's bernie and can also do a helluva lot more than a second gamer.

hunt was solid last week.

want to see wagner back up that game with another like that.

I expect Petracca & Garland will play at Casey Saturday Night and Neal-Bullen to be 23rd man.

Unfathomable for mine... Would you play Dunn on a mobile run around forward like Gunston ? Of course not. But nearly every team has a big stay at home forward who suits "old fashioned, bullocking, man on man" defending. He is reliable and as long there is a match up and he is "solid " form, he plays.

Ithink you are being harsh. Sure he has some limitations but has been the mainstay of our backline for a long time. Teams well with TMac and can play on the gorillas. He is a fine kick of the footy as well.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
