He has. He has dropped three marks. Only positive, a good handball to Jeffy for a goal. Appears very rusty. He will come good.

What, no summary executions for a guy who has made a couple of skill errors?

Jones quiet. Vince quiet. Hogan quiet. And we're in front. Good signs.

Just sat down at my local. Recently moved so had to cancel Foxtel.

Instead of $130+ (monthly) to watch beloved Demons only cost couple bucks for pot, the place is empty and 50inch tv to myself ☺☺☺

Back to the footy... strap urself in for 2016

So many reactionary flogs live here.  They make concrete conclusions on the back of one moment of play.

Watts is becoming really important and I couldn't be happier.

And no, the bet isn't with Jumbo and I hope I lose.

Shouldn't have even gone to him, Salem was the closer and better option.

I thought it was a squib too, but maybe the sun cuts him a break.

Grimes doesn't squib. He just fumbled as he turned sideways, to get an ordinary pass that was high.

Salem and Tyson playing poorly, too.

I like that we're getting a lot of drive out of Bugg, Kennedy and Oliver - new players that are showing us they're going to add value to the side in 2016.

You may be right. His man has 3, but others stuffed up to make them pretty easy.

He looks more a winger to me.

Wagner gifted them at least two. He looks to have settled in the second half. But, backline is a little green with both he and Omac in there.

Loving Watts and Gawn taking so many contested marks.

Feel we are missing Vanders for the contested fear factor

It's exciting watching the team build confidence and enjoy the flow of the more aggressive game plan.

Hogan has taken marking tips from Dawes by the look of it

Bar one kick, Tom has been very good so far. Watts again among our best.

Is anyone else concerned about Tyson? He gets caught all the time and when he gets one away, it is a poor disposal.

Wagner has killed us with his only few kicks, all have gone to the Saints and cost a couple of goals. I know though he is only a rookie. Where are you Mitch White?

Rubbish, Tyson has been our best midfielder so far.

Just showed the Jeremy Cameron clash. If he doesn't get at least one week then no one will get rubbed out this year.

Hogan is having a bit of a mare. I remember last years NAB Challenge he played ok, but wasn't clunking any marks, so hopefully a similar story this year.

Gawn awesome again.

Watts is playing his third good game on the trot.

I like Kennedy, and I really like Harmes.

I still feel there is one spot on a back flank well and truly up for grabs. Wagner had a crack at it today but has been well short of the mark.

Just love  Clayton Oliver. Dosent score high in super coach dream team but who cares.

I cut him a break.

And people wanted to draft Charlie Curnow over Oliver LOL

No. As I said he is rusty and will come good.

We all know he is a good footballer.

However, I think we are allowed to say he dropped 3 marks, if he actually dropped 3 marks, aren't we?

We can also say he kicked one off the side of his boot, if he did.

I was paying $130 per month for the platinum package and rang them threatening to cancel. I ended up sticking with the platinum package and now pay $65 a month. They are struggling retaining customers with Netflix etc.

My bad.

To be fair you've always said you hope you're wrong on Watts. Still a long way to go before we find out.

Our recruiting haul from this offseason (Oliver, Bugg, Kennedy) looks bloody good so far. All three are super hard at the ball and just seem to always win 50/50's.

:-)

competitors competitors competitors !!!

bugg kennedy oliver viney jones

Oliver is just a natural footballer and I just love watching when he's near the ball.
Wagner is having an absolute mare which I'm sure that's largely due to nerves.
I've loved Gawn & Watts's games and N. Jones has started to get a fair bit of it in the middle. If our backline was a bit tighter we'd be up by 30-40pts.

Not having a go at you, Legs. Just at the preparedness of some here to condemn players to death on he back of not much evidence.

Do they still show Black Gold?I can't believe Brandon's behaviour at times. Amazed he is still on the Big Dawg rig.

Gawn has improved out of sight, but the next step is to do more damage with his ruck dominance, at times he can smash his opponent in the hit outs but we don't gain a huge advantage from it

Watts looks like a different player.

Who is the fellow in the number 4 guernsey dominating the game

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
